Eh, when they have time to get back to doing regular Quick Looks again, I'd much rather them focus on new games. I would have liked to see Quick Looks for some of these games as well, but I think that ship has sailed.
@fisk0: Damn, that sucks. I really wish essential workers got more support during this whole mess. You've probably heard it before, but you guys are true heroes. Thank you for keeping everything running!
As for me, I feel fortunate that not much changed, as I had worked from home even before the pandemic. My schedule was definitely out of whack most of the year, but I know a lot of people have been dealing with much worse circumstances.
DualShock 4. I prefer the feel, and I don't have an Xbox anyway.
The support for it is pretty good nowadays (at least on Steam, and Epic for the most part), though I do have to use DS4Windows (a separate program) for PC Game Pass.
Uh...just an assumption, but I imagine it (along with non-premium ads) pays their salaries, lets them purchase equipment, etc. It's more complicated than that since they have a parent company that ultimately makes the decisions regarding pay and expenses, but I think it's fair to say that's mostly it.
Of course I don't know all the details, but as Giant Bomb is owned by Red Ventures, I think it's safe to say it's really just income for Red Ventures, which then pays the GB staff and their expenses. Pretty straight-forward business practices.
We all have ups and downs, and we're all in search of that perfect work/play balance (or life/video games balance, lol). I feel fortunate that I'm mostly in the same camp as you, feeling generally satisfied with where my life is at in my mid- to late-thirties (though I don't know that "exciting" is quite the word I'd use!).
Anyway, congrats on what sounds like a great opportunity, and good luck in Japan!
