Hey, it's tough for Microsoft to give away a couple of those 10$ points cards every other day. They had to save up for all those rad Kin advertisements.

I hear ya with the Mario Galaxy render effects, I love that game and has a perfect rendition of a current Mario world. I think I am being more critical on this game because of how they are announcing it and the Game Informer Cover. You would have to think this a pretty substantial chunk of game and they are fairly confident on how these screens look if they are garnering this much attention. If this was a slower unveiling process this might have been a breezier internet shit storm.

Why should I feel silly commentating on the visuals of screen shots that were widely released? I am not talking about the game play or animation.

I had to look up that dragon you were talking about.  Agreed that piece looks kick ass. If they could get everything up to that standard it would be amazing. But bringing up its a Small World, I had no clue that's what the environment was trying to emulate, me growing up and loving that ride as a kid, riding it 5 times in one day. That's a problem if people can not make a connection between the environments and the properties they are incorporating.

This game looks technically bad not just because its a Wii game or not "HD". The polygon usage is confusing, the environments are extremely boxy while Mickey and the creatures are dense to where they look like clay figures in comparison. The color palettes range from bland to eradicate with clashing neons. None of the backdrops give indications of a world, their made up of mostly flat billboards with no real depth. Their use of shadow and lighting is lacking, it is a "dark game" but where are the light sources? Lighting could lead to a very moody game and dark vibes which they are going for a la Fantasia.

Yes this game is early, but I am really looking forward to Kingdom Hearts on the Psp at the moment. Heck that game might have better graphics than this.

P.s. I love that Blasto reference and totally see what you are getting at.

Hmm being a mostly online console player currently... I am really sick of online matchmaking. The rage quit dropped games, low numbers, connection issues, and annoying community is making me want to find a meaty FPS shooter for PC. I guess Modern Warfare 2 is not that game.
