So I bought a second hand xbox from a friend of mine for £70 (great deal, even for an older model MW2 edition with a slightly reluctant disc drive).

I purchased Fez, which while flawed, may be my Game of the Year right now.

I also got Mark of the Ninja, which I love, but haven't played much of yet.

I am looking for some that can't really be experienced on PS3, because I have had a PS3 a while, and feel like making the most of my new console. So just throw at me the best XBLA or IBLIG you can think of. Throw in some multi-platform ones if you like, but exclusives prefered.

Thanks :)

I did just last night, and I like it a lot. Nearly drove me crazy near the beginning, as I made my first steps to understanding button symbols and numbers of this game, and generally adjusting my mindset to one appropriate for solving most of the secrets.

However, I found a QR code. I found it in a temple room on a wall, I scanned it, and entered it. It did nothing. I have since not used it. If the game is to be believed, I have everything including the 3 heart pieces, but there's this one thing that bothers me, and the internet doesn't appear to have answers.

@Mountain_flames: I have stopped listening lately, simply because there is very little happening in the games industry that I am interested in. Last year was packed with awesome, leaving this year barren.

In the meantime, I have jumped headfirst into comics and graphic novels, a few good books, and audiobooks to replace podcasts for when I am walking or trvelling. It is keeping me much more entertained than podcasts ever did.

I'll likely jump back into podcasts later this year, simply to stay on top of the industry news. Going to university, on a games design course, I feel I should make an effort to keep on top of things like I always have. However, I must admit, I am finding audiobooks to be a much better use of the time I spend travelling (which is the only time I really listen to stuff).

So, in conclusion, I agree with what you are saying, but these guys have to stick to a weekly release schedule despite the industry dry-spell. I agree it could be shorter, but if you don't find it a good use of your time (like me), grab a good audiobook. I suggest Ready Player One, World War Z, The Quantum Thief, or if you are into this sort of stuff, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Those are all science fiction, and all very much geared towards gamer interests, especially Ready Player One.

This may have been a tad excessive as a reply to this topic, but perhaps not as excessive as your original post.

I loved it to death too. Need to go back through it. I completed it on hard and it gave me no trophy, but I didn't feel bitter because I had so much fun doing it. It was almost like it was giving me a valid excuse to do it again sometime.

Watch Breaking Bad.

I understand what you are saying, and I get that feeling from TV too rather often, but Breaking Bad only ever once made me question the reality of that world or those characters. It really is the best TV series on right now. It is like the next evolution in what TV writing and directing could be, an actual noticeable leap in quality.

I love Max Payne 3, so I say that. Also, people playing on PC seemed to have a much better time with it than others. However, it is very clear that this is a game that just doesn't click with some people.

I'd like to see some zombies in a game.

So you need to find 4 people who own a PS Vita (hard enough) and then all those need to agree to purchase this game and play it together. I have no comments in regards to this concept, and I have no stake in the Silent Hill franchise, but the odds on anyone playing 4 player seems pretty slim. Who on earth is this game for?

Jet Li: Rise to Honor, PS2

Why it was overlooked:

It just seemed to slip well beneath everyone's radar for whatever reason, and got a bunch of average reviews. I just happened to be 14, and totally into dumb martial arts movies at the time, so I picked it up.

Why it is a masterpiece:

It was the most fun a beat-em-up game could be. Although it wasn't a multi-button game, it was all based on which direction you flicked the right stick in, and Jet Li would attack in the direction with appropriate combos. This made the combat shallow, but you always felt full in control, and most fights in the game put you in fights where you are circled by enemies, so timing was absolutely key. It also had some third person shooter sections which were less good, but it used a cover system much like the ones today, before Gears made it a standard. The story was exactly what it needed to be, a straight-to-VHS/DVD movie about a badass detective in Hong Kong who must save some lady or something, and for some contrived reason, this leads him to america. Awesome fun, it tried many things other games would not, and arguably was a success.

The second half needed to go the way it did, blowing up of buildings and all. It really needed to hammer home that what happened in that movie really was far beyond what any of those characters, or the audience, could have predicted. They needed to have an ending where the consequences of the crazy shit happening in that movie had a long term effect on everyone, not just the characters involved.
