@spaceinsomniac: yeah it has a 74 on metacritic right now, with the popular sites reviews in progress generally saying positive things which will probably put it in that range. Which is around the score I was expecting
@sethmode: Not specifically in here, but on reddit especially I've seen tons of people complaining about the animations as a huge negative point, when they generally look fine if somewhat stiff in places. Bethesda couldn't even get a diagonal run animation until Fallout 4 and all of their animations for their entire games are basically generic looping animations but it's rarely this big thing to point it out. Just like a passing "Bethesda animations suck. But SUPER HYPE FOR THIS GAAAMEE!" bugs too in the same way, I've seen streams of this game where a small AI bug happened and it's posted all over Reddit with people saying "Knew it, game is shit."
Now this isn't a judgement on either game. Just an observation on how we seemingly judge one game on a quality, and not others for that same quality for some reason.
@sethmode: And I'm baffled that you see that as a critique worth complaining about and not a critique worth calling out as bad and pointless to even say. So yeah, dropping it is indeed good.
@sethmode: I don't follow your first point. Yes, it's whining when you start complaining about something completely arbitrary, and something that makes no sense. No developer should be required to add these things when the thing they're making is based off of a particular culture. Calling him out on that bullshit is not having a hissy fit in my opinion.
I doubt I'm going to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine. I think the entire thing is ridiculous, forced inclusion is the dumbest shit to me. So it's probably better to just drop it before it becomes inflammatory.
