Dicuss. Do you think we will pull through and have a variety and lots of releases of games still or are we heading for just a halo, cod, assassin's creed era.

How much do any of you trust game reviews that you see on videogame sites. Would you still try a game you were kinda interested in if it got a average rating of 60 or below. I usually just get games that avg at least a 70 am I missing out on some good not great games if I don't go lower than a 60 avg or is it all subjective.

I want to know if anyone plays there games like this. I tend to play games for maybe a few missions at a time then go on to a smaller less intense game like xbla or maybe a portable. I have done this for awhile now, when I was younger I tended to play for hours and hours at a time but I just don't feel like doing that anymore I am more happy to get into a game play for a small bit then move on. Which is why I have a massive backlog of games. I do actually have the time to spend hours and hours on games if I wanted to and I am a older gamer but I am not married or have a job which has long hours.

With all this talk and statements about these companies losing money year after year what does this mean for the hardcore gamers. Will there be a time when there will only be social games and no hardcore games at all. With apple seeming to do no wrong in the way they do business and sony and other developers losing money where does this leave the hardcore. I know I for one don't want to just play social games but im afraid this could actually come true, or are we just going to be where just the big publishers survive with less games coming out every year. I for one still want my hardcore games. Is gaming in trouble like it was in the 80's and can it bounce back or is there nothing to worry about.
