Every Party Member from Persona 3, 4 and 5 - Ranked

Spoiler warning for discussion of the characters in all 3 games!

List is all my opinions and based entirely on my own bullshit assessments.

List items

  • Ryuji is the type of guy I would genuinely want to hang out with in real life. Yeah he's a dumbass, but he's my kind of dumbass. Everyone needs a friend like Ryuji. Always there to pick you up when you're down.

  • Knifedog > Batman

  • Not only does she absolutely wreck with Orgia Mode, Aigis has one of the most compelling character progressions in the series. From an android devoid of all emotions to the most loyal and caring friend.

  • PROTEIN. It's a tough choice between Shinjiro and Akihiko (aka the Broody Bros.) for the best dude in P3 but Akihiko is so pure, I had to put him above. Loyal, supportive and though he's never admit it, a total sweetheart.

  • Much like Akihiko, Shinji is a true brother. While it was plainly foreshadowed, his death was incredibly painful. I'll miss you and your amazing cooking, man.

  • Mitsuru, I love you. Just please stop using Marin Karin. She gets a lot of hate for being so self-serious, but Mitsuru has been through the wringer and that's what has made her so cold on the surface. Get to know her and you'll realise how much of a big softy she is. <3

  • Futaba often hits a little too close to home but her progression from crippling anxiety to a fully integrated member of the team gives me hope and inspiration for my own self.

  • You might be surprised to see the kung-fu champ all the way down at number 7 but as fun as Chie is, she got a little annoying to me at times. Also she's a god damn cop.

  • Ah, Kanji. I wish this character had been handled better but for the potential alone, Kanji lands in the top ten. You can sew and knit with me anytime, dude.

  • I don't think Yusuke intends to be as hilarious as he is, but striking certain poses in churches had me in stitches.

  • There is not enough Haru in Persona 5. She may have been best girl if she'd been given more of a chance to shine.

  • Naoto is someone I can definitely empathise with, having worked in an industry where you had to pretend to be someone else in order to succeed. I wish we got to find out more about who they really are.

  • Ok, the motorbike is fucking rad but why does Makoto have to be so damn serious all the time? She makes Mitsuru seem chill.

  • I have a softspot for the goofballs in Persona and Junpei is a fun guy to be around, when he's not being a pest. His character development is also very powerful throughout the game and the plot with Chidori is fantastic.

  • In a land of cliches, Rise is maybe the ultimate cliche. She'd be better suited as a background dancer in Hatsune Miku.

  • I have a love/hate relationship with Akechi. He's certainly an interesting character, but I don't think I ever actually liked him.

  • Fuuka warms my nerdy heart, but she seems to have a lot less personality than some of the other characters.

  • I have personal issues relating to Ann's storyline, so I found it difficult to be happy with the conclusion she ultimately reaches.

  • Another character that is fine but doesn't really stand-out in any way. A great friend for Chie, but not for me.

  • Kasumi? You hardly knew me!

  • Meh.

  • An adorable cat should have been top tier but Morgana is a pain in the butt and also kinda creepy.

  • Yukari when it comes down to it, is just kinda...mean?

  • Yosuke is a problem and someone should call him out on his bullshit.

  • UnBearable.
