Just doing my typical quick bullet points; should be noted I'm a big fan of the original Red Faction (and it's very Total Recall style).

  • The enemies in the game suck out some of the fun as you're constantly trying to track them as they jump between various parts of the cave ceilings.
  • The destruction of buildings felt right at place in the open worlds of Guerrilla as you took out entire installations, but definitely feels out of place in the really confined cave environments that make up most of this game.
  • The weapons all feel great, and the auto aim feels just right for a console shooter. I like that the game lets you figure out your arsenal yourself rather than forcing you into using certain weapons at certain times (as many games do).
  • The "horde" mode for this game is decent, and I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to, I really felt like I had to bunker down as a group and work together to complete some of the higher level waves, each user also has a power (like throwing a force shield down) so strategizing with team mates on what your loadout is can really help, and is almost imperative in some of the high levels.
  • New Game+ options are above average in my mind, and definitely give some good incentive to go back (unlocking cheats, having the unicorn weapon).
  • I'd recommend this to anyone who really like Guerilla, but with the understanding that you're getting a much more straight forward linear action game here, and not a unique Mars roving open world game like we had previously.

I'd say GBA, as you then have a portable version rather than one tied to a console you may not have hooked up forever. It's a lot easier to go back and play the GBA version.

As much as I hate to suggest this to some, as its definitely the inferior version, the Xbox version works fine on a 360.

Yeah, this game truly does feel a step back for me as well, its just not the same taking down buildings when your in very claustrophobic environments. The big thing I wish the game had was destroying terrain in the same way the original Red Faction had. I loved when I would miss with a rocket launcher and see a big crater in the red rock.

Yup, I thought this was maybe the best campaign of any Halo game, Reach was excellent, but ODST had its own unique style.

I honestly think you just need to get past the first 3 hours, and then you'll really gain some momentum and start to love it. I recently just went through the game earlier this year and it was just as addictive as the first time I played it in 2003.

I duno, I would rather see CE, since you can effectively get an "HD" version of Halo 2 by buying the Vista version (as well as get achievements from it).

  • I’ve played the first chapter of single player, and the game seems to maintain all the wit, charm, and humor of the original but with some well…much more varied and interesting environments.
  • The coop portion I’ve beaten, and it was A TON of fun, while the puzzles are technically more challenging you’ll generally find that when you have two people working simultaneously on a puzzle you actually figure things out faster, cause in one level you’ll have something figured out quickly while your partner is still perplexed, and in others it’s your partner figuring it out.
  • At least this was my experience where it was basically my friend and I switching giving each other orders on what to do, cause one of us would figure it out.
  • Absolutely recommend playing this coop, although it’s probably worth it to find someone who hasn’t gone through it yet as you’ll have a lot more fun solving the puzzles for the first time together.

@sammo21: I said the story MODE was the same, so yes I was referring to the structure of it.

Yeah, I don't mind Shinnok coming back, but I'm really hoping we don't see a full return of EVERY character, and end up with a bloated roster. You could almost argue that this MK already does have one, but yeah I'll be interested to see where they go with the story, I do like the story mode, but I wish they'd make more improvements to the actual mode itself.

MK's story mode was essentially identical to the one in MKvsDC, I'm hoping they take a page out of some of the variation they have with the Challenge Ladder and have some interesting gameplay mechanics in some of the levels. So when you fight Scorpion in hell you really do have to worry about fire or lava in the environment hitting you etc.
