No, multiplayer is a complete joke for a premium service. Automatic updates and trophy syncing are nice, but not that big of a deal. It's a convenience. Locking people out of multiplayer for games they purchased because they haven't paid an additional $60/year on top of that is a shakedown.

Both are a fucking joke. Don't defend that shit.

No, one is a joke, the other is a rip-off. Big difference.

Yeah, $250-$300 is about as much as I'd pay at a decent, non-dirtbag hotel (something comfortable and clean, but hardly the Ritz). Then again, if you think spending $500+ a night on this person is worth it, more power to you.

@NTM: Fair enough. Seems like an odd thing to bring up if it didn't actually bother you.

Anyway, I still think there is more to be said in the AC franchise, though Desmond's story is starting to run a bit thin. Clearly feudal Japan isn't happening, but something in Asia would be cool. Northern Europe also; France in the 1620s (Louis XIII, Cardinal Richelieu and all that), England during the Norman Conquest, the Dutch Republic in the 17th century, etc...

Nothing against you OP, but I hate when people say "what say you?" or "pray tell", I don't know the right word for it, maybe it seems a little pretentious, though it's often not. Anyways, I'd hope it's not set in WWII. You'd imagine they just keep coming closer to present time, but maybe they could go even further back in time. That's not to say that's what I hope they do, but I'm not sure. Maybe we're going to go into the future, 'cause someone is actually in the animus and Desmond is the ancestor of the actual person in the animus; know what I mean? Has anyone thought of that? That's the twist right there.

Even though you said I was pretentious, that is a pretty good twist.

If they intend to give this guy a trilogy, then I would assume French Revolution and then something nobody wants to play because they've run out of ideas. Not sure where they'll go after that. I have next to no interest in a modern AC and I'm fine with them dragging it out as long as they make the games interesting in their own right.

I agree with this person. Desmond is boring, modern day is boring. Show me something cool.

@Encephalon: You're right about the Desmond "saga' being more than a little played out at this point. I'll take ACIII, but that really should be the end of it. That said, some of my favorite parts of the last few games were the glyph puzzles and the meta-narrative stuff. Delving deeper into the Assassins v. Templar conflict outside of the whole "Desmond saves the world" thing is where I'm still interested.

@Encephalon: I agree that Desmond is probably the least interesting part of the series so far. Even if he wasn't though, I don't have any particular need for closure. Ubisoft can string me along for as long as they want, provided that the games are well-realized and set in interesting time periods.
