@akzo you don't have to have played gw1 to get into this beta, and I'm pretty sure having played it does not give you an advantage when it comes to being accepted.
@Subjugation: The yogscast videos, specifically the charr one where they were in the black citadel, had some pretty bad looking low-res ground textures. I think they would be a good example of how ugly this game can get on low.

They said (I'm pretty sure on twitter) that if you don't get an email by the weekend you can request a resend. I havn't got mine either so I'm in the same boat as you.
Man, I love hearing about nitty gritty design decisions. I also love it when they just straight up post NUMBERS for game mechanics - ie, the end of the article specifically.
They said that some of the conditions and buffs were really "mathy". I was like, "You say this like it's a bad thing!". Numbers are what make MMOs tick, so I too enjoy it when devs post them.
The game is obviously looking awesome, but I am a little worried that, from what I have seen at least, the game might just be "Mash 1: The Game" at times. But who knows, maybe it was just the people I was watching.
'1' is going to be the spam/autoattack skill of every (mainhand-) weapon. Pretty sure it's a toggle.
If it's a toggle that would make it so much better. I understand that it's your basic/spamable attack, which is fine, I just think that constantly mashing the 1 key would get boring or tiring.
