If I could pick 3 pinball machines to own I would pick Bride of Pin-Bot, Theatre Magic, and Elvira: Scared Stiff. I'm glad Pinball...

Uncle Shodie's 2013 Game of the Year list!

It's already been another year! Wow! Here's the 10 games that I enjoyed playing the most this year! I'm still playing through a lot of these... I'll be filling out the descriptions and messing with the order a bit. I should be done by New Year's though. :)

List items

  • I was a huge fan of Analogue: A Hate Story. This is a continuation of that game and an even more touching and though-provoking than it's predecessor. It is also the only game that gave me an achievement for making chocolate cake in a coffee mug!

  • This is a wonderful game to experience. Collecting and reading various notes and piecing together the story of why your house is deserted is a uniquely moving and amazing experience. Good luck, Sam.

  • I love this game and still haven't beaten it. The ways it makes you think about the puzzles it presents you and the way you "learn" them is really fascinating. I love the audial and visual cues too.

  • Yeah, it's really good. I'm not saying I ever want Rockstar to make a bad GTA game, but I already feel San Andreas' giant map navigation fatigue. That said, I am really liking it. I haven't done anything online though.

  • A lushly colored metroidvania game with a luchadore twist!

  • Pants shittingly awesome rogue-like.

  • I like this game a lot... but no one ELSE has played it's multi since it was new and hot earlier this year.

  • don your magic jumping trousers and hack that electrical socket!

  • Ok ok, so this is my 2013's 2012 game of the year. It's really engrossing and can get really frantic during lunch and dinner rushes. It's keeping me from playing GTA V right now. So, go make a Ryan Davis burger for your favorite hobo. Also, burglars can eat a dick.
