For some reason I really enjoy the concept of hanging out in a garage. I'm not sure what it is about them. Maybe it's that in a garage you can pretty much let yourself go. Doesn't matter if you spill food or drink on the floor, as it can be swept or hosed away the next day. Probably it's because of the thin line between shelter and the elements. I've always enjoyed looking out the window when there's a storm raging outside, I suppose in a garage that window is the size of a wall, and you can step freely in and out of it as you please. In a storm it increases your awareness of the chaos outside, and also your thanks for the shelter around you.

Ever since moving into my current house, which has a spacious two-car garage attached, I've wanted to hold a small party in it. I've already got a beer fridge there, and there's power points, so it wouldn't be difficult to move a small table down there to put my TV on, chuck my couch and a beanbag there as well, and hang out for a weekend playing games, eating junk and making full use of the fridge.

That being said, I do have a very nice lounge just upstairs which would be far warmer... I'm not sure anyone else will understand my love of chilling in garages. Am I the only one? o.O

Since my last power bill I've been trying not to leave my computer on all the time. I'm sure there are other, larger contributing factors like the downlights throughout the house, and the clothes drier, but every little bit helps.

I used to leave it on for days/weeks at a time though. I still leave my gear at work switched on permanently too.

I don't want to make any sweeping generalisations here, I'm just going to speak from my experience. I know there are plenty of gamer girls who aren't like this.

I've met a lot of girls who seem to suffer from the same problems that really attractive girls suffer from (not that there isn't a cross-section of really attractive gamer girls, that's beside the point.). A lot of really attractive girls get a lot of attention from an early age (not too early, sheesh). Guys lust after them, things get given to them, and they can become arrogant fairly easily. I find this to be true for gamer/nerdy girls as well. Nerdy guys are often attracted to nerdy girls. Why not? Common interests are good. The problem is that there have always been a lot more nerdy guys than nerdy girls, so the girls will get a lot of attention from a lot of guys, and can develop some pretty unattractive personality traits.

But yeah, that's just from my own personal experience. I'd love to meet a gamer/nerdy girl who isn't attention seeking and arrogant :D

Man, I always thought Harry was a bit of a badss the way he talks back to teachers and stands up to Voldemort on numerous occasions.

He never gets super powerful or anything like that, but he was a smart-ass and I appreciate that.

Awesome.

This reminds me so much of the Lobo from World War Z, if anyone else has read it.

Man, if I were trying to promote Australian comedy I wouldn't be looking to the Chasers. I'd take some classic Shaun Micallef over them any day.

That being said, I did enjoy the Chasers in the past. I just grew a little sick of them doing things for the shock value.

Eh, it was usually Tuesday here when I watched them anyway. It's hard to keep your love of Mondays going in to the next day.

Anyone here have any video game related artwork adorning their walls, figurines on their shelves or any other kind of decorative shizz anywhere in their house?
I'm particularly talking about the type of items that I myself could pick up over the internet, but if there's something special that's not available to buy anywhere that you want to show off, go right ahead.

I desperately want a model of the Normandy SR2 for my desk at work, and depending on the price, would consider paying a company to make a one-off for me. Like this guy did.  http://madcatdrannon.deviantart.com/art/Normandy-SR2-desktop-model-1-182598381

The below stuff was bought from here.

Full picture of the Megaman bosses. There were others, but I didn't like them as much.

Also got this lovely Shadow of the Colossus print, aptly titled

Frames cost me more than I would have liked.

Like so many others, I'm getting my A Game of Thrones on. I just watched episode 3 last night and I'm keen to read all about the next episode before it airs, because I'm certain that some shit is about to go down.

I bought a set of three 13x19" prints and had them framed professionally. Cost me $270AUD for the three frames. Ouch.

They look good though, and unless I drop them and smash the frames/glass, they'll last pretty much forever, so it's decent investment.

I've bought crap quality frames from regular stores before, and unless you can get a frame that exactly fits the picture you want to display, it's a pain in the ass.
Where did you get them framed from? And is the glass UV? "
I'd say it's just regular glass, I didn't ask. I went for the cheapest option on everything.

I got it done at a local store in Hobart. Probably not any good to you.
