I've unfortunately been missing out on this season of 24, but I did manage to catch the first four episodes. I figured this season would jump the shark, and boy was I wrong. It's been the only TV show that I've watched and has been so consistent on delivering high tension episodic content. I believe both are great shows; however, Lost had me stop watching at season two -- I know it has picked up though, and is an amazing show.
Sidenote, but it's funny how terrible Heroes has become, especially off of its amazing first season.
i am more into lost because i never followed 24. it looks like they make it more realistic though.
some episodes of lost the writing is so shitty, jack's character is totall whack now, he shows up, they tell him its 1977, and he doesn't even ask how or why.
24 is easily my favourite, I like the journey Jack Bauer's character has taken, the writers have developed him over the seasons very well I think. Viewers now have a very good impression of who Jack is and what motivates him.
The latest season has started off well, but not for Jack, he seems to be infected with a Bio weapon now. Hopefully he will blow his nose and kill some more evil dudes.
I have never seen lost, but people who hate it say that It's a nasty mess of unanswered questions and random plotlines. But I don't know.
Of course, 24 has had some sinkers as well, especially Season 6, which manages to use every single plot point established by the series in a worse fashion than they were originally used in. But the new season is actually really good, and manages to pull off all the crazy crap the series is known for without feeling recycled.

I've recently started season 6 which isn't that bad so far, but for me the worst season has to be 3. The Jack drug addiction storyline was a bit over the top and having Kim work at CTU rendered the whole thing a bit farcical at times. Still, a bad season of 24 is better than 99% of other shows out there!
"Fear not, Linkyshinks -- another season with Jack has been confirmed. Season 8 will be Keifer's last in the show though.Personally, I prefer Lost. It's the one show that I will speculate, investigate and rewatch every episode until the next is aired."
I have just finished watching the latest.. another awesome episode, it's all about to kick off big time, and no doubt Jack will be on hand to save everyone. Who would have thought Jack would be taken out by Mad Cow disease...it's..mad.
24 seeing as i actualy watched a series of it granted it was the first one. also played the game, it was awsome that there was a button to yell CTU!!!!
Seen all the seasons of both Lost and 24. 24 was really good in the earlier seasons but hasn't been as good since 5. Overall, I prefer Lost more. It is so much more interesting and has better characters.
24 was a fantastic concept, with lousy execution. LOST was a fairly boring concept with fantastic execution. I'll explain in more detail:
I thought 24 was fantastic idea. An action/drama show showing the actual passage of time set over twenty four hours, with there being 24 one hour long episodes. But it was executed very poorly. Each episode was only 45 minutes long, not an hour, which ruined the concept of actual time passing. And secondly - no-one looked tired. These people had been awake for over 24 hours, and were showing hardly any signs of fatigue. I thought that was going to be a great thing about it, seeing these people get tired and have to push themselves to keep going. But nope, none of that.
LOST is a pretty boring idea. A group of people stranded on an island. Big deal. It's been done a million times before, and it'll be done a million times again. But the characters, the storyline, everything about it was brilliantly executed.
Overall I'd probably say 24 was my favourite, despite it's shortcomings. Although both should have finished after two seasons. Maybe three at most. They've been going on for too long now and need to stop.
