I think its fairly easy to make a new Duke Nukem game.

First, plan to make it a budget game, 20-30 dollars. Also start thinking of one-liners from the second development starts all the way to step 4.

Second, make a base prototype with great feeling movement controls, great feeling weapons, and make sure it has co-op from the start.

Third, start making the levels. Make sure they complement co-op and are also rather circular in design instead of a linear level.

Fourth, implement the best one-liners you came up with throughout development. They should be made up organically and not just stolen and tweaked from something else; and if the one-liner is still humorous from long ago when you came up with it, then put it in.

Try all they want, games that try for realism will always get surpassed.

Games with a good art style are timeless.

The video is playing at a rapid FPS, it is really screwing with me. It seems unnatural and is giving me a headache with how fast his mouse flicks go.

Also I'm pretty confident the game is running at a faster speed. Story sequences are flying by with less pacing, it is really awkward.

Also going to say Hei$t

A game where you choose which banks to rob in any order in a 60's San Fransisco. Doing side stuff to setup for the robberies resulted in a better getaway car, help from local gangs, etc etc. Also you could record dialogue and choose what action it does. For instance, yelling "OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR, DIPSHIT" could be tied to telling a certain teammate to open the doors.

Also, a game I think no one even knew existed, Necessary Force

This game had a great art style based off the video and concept art. Dead to Rights Retribution kind of scratched the itch, since they looked rather similar. But man, I could definitely use more games like DtR:R

@viciousbearmauling: Wouldn't the US version automatically lose because it has the IGN logo on it?

Faith and a .45

I read about this around the time the original Gears of War came out, so cover based shooting mechanics fatigue hadn't set in for me yet. This game looked so cool with an original setting.

Also, I can not forget the FPS Avengers game

Because THQ was going belly up, this was one game they cancelled to try and save the company. Ironically, if the game had come out when The Avengers hit theaters, they would've made a whopping off it. This is probably the biggest one for me. If I won the lotto, I would try to resurrect this game.

Is Prey 2 actually totally cancelled? I know the studio shut down, but I thought their was still murmurs...

The studio didn't shut down, they took over making a game called Minimum which a previous studio was working on (which is ironic)

Kinda sad he didn't play Uplink.

What is he going to play now? HL2, Ep1, and Ep2? He beat HL1 and said "Just 6 more" but the only thing I can think of is either Lost Coast or HL coop missions from ps2

I played this game and beat it when the week it came out along with Dishonored. This was right between jobs and inbetween moving out of my friend's apartment with my wife, and these two games really carried my mood in that time. I didn't really touch it since then.

Although I will never try hard or iron man, I will buy Enemy Within and give the regular game another whirl. I commend you for beating it on Iron Man
