I say we let you use the Shuckle you wanted to. You're telling everyone about it here, so it's not like it will catch anyone off guard that the Shuckle is different.
My team has changed a little bit. Now featuring Scizor, Dragonite, Goodra, Drapion, Ferrothorn, and Chandelure. Subs are Absol, Starmie, and Aegislash.
Also, going to notify that my Drapion carries Poison Jab instead of Cross Poison, which is what I registered. I think it's fair that I announce that now to avoid confusion.
Just battled Hunter5024 and won. The second one is one to watch
Man, I might want to get in on this. My old Terraria crew got pretty burned out after the last Terraria update, so I need to find a new multiplayer place to roll around in.
I haven't played much of this game yet, is it reasonable to try to hop on a server if you haven't really progressed at all? In Terraria, it was pretty hard to get a start after everything had been mined and explored.
I agree that it might be best to save the more restrictive rules for a later time. The problem is that we would have to scramble to make a large amount of Pokemon from a much smaller pool and it might lead to teams being less well prepared, which would be a shame. I also know at least one person who's interested in joining the Giant Bomb community and trying to battle in the tournament (despite the low priority for new members), and he just finished his team, like I know a lot of other people have.
The 3 sub double elimination worked great though. It added a little strategy outside of simply butting heads until it's over. I also liked that the subs let you slightly tailor your team. From your perspective, you're bringing in new things that can fight against what gave you trouble before. For them, you're actually removing things that they might have considered in their plan. The finals gave a good example of this. In the first battle of the first set, I won by using Dragon Dance several times. The existence of Ditto in the next battles forced me to change the way I played and I lost. In the second set, my main team failed to break through, but with Goodra, I was able to play a slower game.
We probably should talk about how anyone feels about moves changing between rounds. It didn't matter much in the first season, but it happened a few times this time. Obviously I changed Dragonite's Outrage to Dragon Rush and Absol's Swords Dance to Hone Claws because I knew I was up against Minimize. It's kind of an extra level of preparation that you wouldn't normally see if they were anonymous battles.
I'm going to wait for input from other people. I've already won twice, so I think it would be fair to see what other people have to say about that idea.
I was unfortunately unable to grab the video for the last battle. I won it, but I know it's hard for me to prove that was the case, so I'm hoping maybe Jinx has the video. Otherwise, I understand if people may be skeptical... I wrote down what I could remember of the entire battle if that means anything.
