For the PC, Red Orchestra heroes of Stalingrad. The game still has a while until the release, but they have already given out mod tools for it. Thats pretty unique I think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuu7OqjfuxA      and look at the description showing pc spec. only 24 frame rate per second? ps3 version on 1080p hd tv feel like 49 + frame rate per seconds plus doesnt look so much far off from pc version.   what you think? this legit right? ps3 stronger than 4890. "

He means the size of the monitor in inches, not frames per second.

And before you point at the low framerate in the video, you have to consider that he is probably tasking hes CPU, harddrive etc to capturing video. My pc for instance, gets half the framerate when recording with Fraps.

I picked up UT1 for the first time in my life just a few months ago, to check out some mods that required it.
It is insanely fast and well handling. Ill still recommend it today.

" For some reason I bought this as a boxed PC game. I can't even remember, it's just on my shelf. I played it a little.. I remember, ummm.. a bad map system? Not knowing what the point of it all was.. what I should do next. The fighting felt good though. "

It definitely splashes you right into it as a beginner. Start by doing tournaments, attacking low level bandits and trading the loot in towns.
As mentioned above, you pretty much have to make your own storyline, the game wont be holding your hand much.

Just the way that this game handles melee combat is worth the price alone. Its brilliant, but of course you should not expect the polish of a very high budget game.

Many PC driving sims have very detailed damage models. Though you wont get too much focus on it.
I think this an issue largely blown out of its proportions by game devs.

Simulation can be whatever you want it to be, whether it is perfect(it wont be) or lacking in certain areas is completely irrelevant.
