There isn't really a good reason why he does it.  In fact, there isn't much reason why you do anything in Dead Space 2.  Like in chapter 7 when you activate that crazy sun laser thing.  What the hell was that about?

I got the same itch a little while back.  When I realized that all the games are pretty much the same, but all the pokemon after the first 151 are pretty dumb, I went out and picked up Pokemon FireRed.  It's the Gameboy Advance remake of the original Pokemon Red.  I recommend this.

Plasma Cutter- Good, basic weapon that can be used in almost any encounter.

Force Gun- Pretty much the best weapon in the game.  Want to simultaneously blow off all the limbs of an approaching necromorph?  Use your force gun.  Is your health low and you don't want to let that slasher get too close?  Use the secondary fire for what is essentially a mini-contact beam.  It's a fantastic panic weapon!  If I'm backed into a corner I just unload my force gun and my necromorph problem is gone.  Hate those pain-in-the-ass mini-necromorphs that come in groups and are difficult to take out with your plasma cutter?  One shot from your force gun from medium distance and they disappear real quick!  Seriously people, you need to be using this gun.  And if you call within the next 20 minutes, I'll throw in an extra ten rounds of force energy at absolutely no cost to you!

Contact Beam- If you're facing an enemy with a lot of health, the contact beam is one of your best choices.  Use stasis on a brute and you can cut his arm off in one shot.  The secondary fire is great when you're surrounded and need a bit of breathing room.   Once stasis is added to the secondary fire, the gun can be a life-saver.

I really only use these three guns, but I'll give an honorable mention to the Detonator.  Nothing is better for dealing with stalkers, as long as you know they're coming ahead of time.  Before they appear, just lay a ton of mines down and the stalkers will run into them and kill themselves for you.

All you should need is your email address and your password.  If you can't remember your password then you can probably go to Sony's website and have them email it to the associated email address.

After being forced to play against bots because the servers are down (I thought this game was P2P?) I can say that the multiplayer AI is really spectacular.  Best I've ever seen.

Frankly, I don't think Dead Space 2 is better than the first game.  While it has been improved in many ways (free movement in zero G, the improved locator beacon, Isaac is actually a character) I couldn't help but feel like I was simply being pumped through corridors for most of the game.  I have no idea why I had to travel up to the solar array, or most of the other places I went to in the game.  In contrast, I can remember exactly why I needed to go to the hydroponics lab, or the medical deck in the first game.  The Sprawl just doesn't feel as real a place as the Ishimura did.  Dead Space 2 is still a great game, but while playing I felt it was going on too long, whereas I finished the first game and immediately wanted more.

Alien is one of the greatest horror movies ever, and Aliens has Bill Paxton.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that too.  The UI is actually kind of painful to look at.
