The Rift has too high of a price for me. I'm not in a place where I have that kind of disposable income that I could justify spending on something like that.

I wonder if Jeff and Dan realize that their love affair with SMM is pretty wholly unique to them. I'm pretty disappointed that it placed as highly as it did not out of objectivity be because of "tilt" of a few people. I mean, I totally saw this coming but it doesn't make it any less disappointing. Some really great games got shafted because the staff didn't play them, not because the games weren't good. Whatever, opinions man.

I hope next year is a better representation of the games that truly deserve recognition.

Did we move stations? I've been gone for a while, but just resubbed. Pretty sure I docked in our home station, but it seems to be owned by "Infamous Execs" and can't access any of the facilities.

If you're talking about the conquerable station in sovereign null sec back in the region of Catch (W-MPTH) then yes we moved out quite a while ago. Currently we're in Rakapas in low sec.

Life is Strange.

You have to see it through and we all know that you want to do it.

Definitely soldier through to the end for this game. I enjoyed it quite a bit, then again I am also a sucker for these types of story driven games. It did a pretty good job of sprinkling those "I can't believe that just happened" moments throughout. I found it to be an emotional rollercoaster for sure. My personal hope is that the dev does another Life is Strange after their upcoming game set in old London.

Also, good job on the near-essay level analysis. I don't want to color your perception with my own so I'll just say that your perspective is interesting.

Probably FO4 right now. It just feels like a game that should've come out many years ago, not be a modern release.

Let me say this much ... I literally can't buy the game on a platform I own right now as I only play games on the PC, but when it does come out on PC like the first it will be a guaranteed sale from me. I loved the first entry of the reboot and by all accounts so far this one is apparently even better. So, I'd lay off the doom and gloom until the exclusivity deal ends and other platforms get the game. I think it will do fine.

I got in, however it doesn't look like the servers are up yet. Just sits at authentication.

The irony is that I'm away for most of the weekend.

Yeah, you'll notice on the launcher it has "breaking news" telling you that they have a 24 hour maintenance in preparation for the stress test weekend.

@cthomer5000: You can pare down the size of a map without reducing the scope of the game because (hopefully) there is more to it than how much landmass the map encompasses. As you get older you more readily recognize tedium for what it is. Wandering a huge empty map is perhaps novel for the first half hour, but after that those of us with limited time just become annoyed that that kind of stuff stands in the way of us accomplishing anything meaningful during the smaller blocks of time to play. I want to get something done if I have thirty minutes or an hour other than just walking.
