I keep one for each active slot, and anything in my backpack is headed for the vendor. But I play mostly co-op, so the chances of neither of us having the right weapon for the job is slim.

I've played Co-op Gunzerker up to level 15, and solo Assassin up to level 10. Both I have had a nice variety of drops and chest loot. In my co-op game I'm actually struggling more. First of all, the 'Zerker needs specific types of guns. I have been trying to use a Shotgun/AR combo, but I find I don't have the survivability yet to get in close with the Shotgun. The ARs, so far, aren't that great. Secondly, I am specing out my guy for a co-op role, and therefore just because I found a great sniper doesn't mean I can't hang back and snipe. But I have grabbed some nice Shotguns, and my co-op buddy has some nice snipers and a really great SMG for his level (playing Siren). Its a Bandit dual clip plus either shock or slag.

Solo I am using a pistol/sniper rifle setup on an Assassin. Only level 10 there, but I have found a 12 round sniper doing 444 critical damage (I have put skill points into boosting critical). Still early, but the drops have been enjoyable enough.

I will say, in both games, I am so far absolutely awash in pistols. Every outhouse locker seems to have 3 pistols in it. Every loot chest has them as well. And they are ridiculously varied!

My gripe with the loot is that it often forces your hand in play style. Sometimes all I can get are rocket weapons, when what I really want is a bullet hose. In co-op this is a problem, because I have a role to play with my partner. If you are playing solo, I would suggest being flexible. I have tried a few different play styles with my solo assassin, and have learned a ton about the way weapons and systems in the game work. Sure, I'm only level 10 so its still early, but I find several approaches work.

Also, my co-op buddy says that he can see a marked difference between co-op and solo loot. I haven't noticed it so much myself. I dunno OP, personally I am having a ton more fun with this loot than in D3. In D3 I find myself just sort of rolling through, incrementally increasing, but never 1)finding a great item that is really exciting or 2) finding something that is tailor made for a specific play style that I want to try something new.

Im still working my way through normal, about Act II now. My schedule probably won't let me play straight through with you, but I would be willing to run together if we were on at the same time. RenegadTrout#1348

What about characters like Yoshi who show up in other games before getting their own, named games? Or does that break down because both games are from the same franchise?

@WholeFunShow: I had this fight a long time ago about an "Immersion" page. I personally felt that you could still point out things that were used to add immersion, or talk about what immersion meant, from a perfectly objective standpoint. I can see doing innovation the same way.

However, I will tell you, echoing the other posts, that you are not going to win this one. Trust me. A way that I was told to look at it is "Can you agree on which games to tag to a particular page?" If there is debate between a game "having" this concept or not, it cannot be included in the wiki. So while you might argue that Blackthorn is innovative for having the first cover mechanic, others might point out that it otherwise was derivative, etc.

What I did instead, however, was write some blog posts on the subject. As others have mentioned, lists work as well.

Are you playing Deathmatch? Or any of the Close Quarters maps? On the consoles, I think its easiest to start with Rush. Try to find a STANDARD ruleset game. Search for official DICE servers or ones marked "Vanilla" (also, the forums on battlelog will help with this). Conquest is also easy to start with, but on consoles you will be playing a lot of empty maps.

Start with assault. Chuck med packs, revive when you can. Engineer is pretty easy to play (guns are easy to handle), but really you need to go up against vehicles to be fully effective. You can get exp by throwing down ammo packs as support, but it takes time to learn to use LMGs properly. If you must play recon, I suggest waiting until you have unlocked a PDW weapon (I think the UMP is fairly early). Sniping is tough in BF3 at first.

Keep in mind that battlefield is all about team play. Jump in a squad with a high level, and follow him (her?) around. If they shoot at someone, you do to. Pay attention to your positioning also. Its important. If you have a carbine, don't try and snipe.

Save TDM and the Conquest Dominaton (in the close quarters maps) for later. These are clusters, and you need to get some experience.

Also, join squads when you get in game. Don't worry about being bad for your team. They are playing pub, its their fault to. As long as you aren't trolling (in Battlefield, it usually means wasting vehicles) its fine. If you really are THAT bad, they can leave.

Well done, but I think you are right, Crysis is a less interesting subject. I think characters really help here.

Keep sharing, I am really enjoying these.

Just wondering if there is a way to reset your data. Having finished and done a few high score runs I would like to just start over from the beginning, but don't see any options. Anyone? Bueller?

I think the single biggest piece of advice is to just always keep matching. Even when running in between encounters. The game hints at this with the "keep a clean board" messages. And anyways, I went from download to game complete in less than 3 hours. Taking your time isn't the worst thing in the world, because there is literally nothing to do once finished. The high score runs aren't really that fun, even with all the difficulty+ potions on.
