@The_Laughing_Man: Ahh ok didnt realize that. I figured trying to help people with a link to a tutorial series etc for a game like this would not be a big deal. Its not like Im trying to sell people something or anything like that. Wasnt sure how it was looked at here.

Just wanted to post here for those looking for information on CK2 or trying to learn more about how to play etc...

I did a few Youtube series on the game a while back. The first was a 7 episode Tutorial Series that should get someone not familiar with Paradox strategy games up and running fairly quick with basic knowledge.

CK2 Tutorial Series / Tekk's Tavern - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDF61F4A4275A64D4&feature=plcp

The other series is a LP series that will help with more information and hopefully entertain by watching my crazy shenanigans. =) It is currently up to 69 episodes.

Thanks and I hope these help a few people!

@Swoxx: Yeah for your first game your better off playing with a King somewhere. Take notice when your clicking on a country on the "county" or "province" your clicking on...some will be directly ruled by king while others will be ruled by appointed vassals etc. Pick one that has a king over it...usually easy to tell. Playing as a lower rank character is more of an advanced game to see if you can kinda come up into power etc.

As far as I know yes...it is random on the children. All you can do is have a ready and able wife and hope everyone isnt shooting blanks. =)

On your counsel screen (the first top right button)...you would just click the "appoint" button on the one that is vacant and it should bring up a list of applicants within your realm that are available. Looks for someone with a high stat number on "Learning". Also it is preferable that they "like" you with a green number as well, hehe. If there is nobody available because your a small duke or country etc...there is an option to "invite someone to court". For the life of me I cant think where that option is right this second. Perhaps under where you do Plots....but not sure.

@Swoxx: Hello there. Yeah Im a bit of a Paradox fan and have played a fair amount of their games. I have a youtube channel as well and will be doing a series on CK2 very soon. I did a quick preview/quicklook here:

CK2 Quicklook - Tekk's Tavern

On your questions...

- The only thing you can do is make sure you have a wife. If your wife has the skull symbol on her portrait she is dead...get a new one. A young one at that to help your chances.

- I dont believe there is anyway to see how they died. This was a feature that was requested on Sengoku that used some similar systems etc.

- Early game it just depends on your situation. If you a decent King that has some areas...start out send your advisers out to research that can. Look for your weakest neighbor. Get your Consular to find a false claim so you can attack. Hover over your currency etc up on top right and see what factors are giving you minuses and work on changing those.

Im still playing. Have a level 50 Scoundrel on republic side obviously. Have about 9 friends that started game with us at launch. Down to about 3 actually playing now. As Republic we get hammered on Warzones. We cant do dailies on Ilum because the Empire always holds middle area. You dont get any reward for taking other objectives like say Warhammer did.

If your not running Hardmode instances the gear sucks. The Champion bags randomness sucks.

There is like 4 of us left playing but last night for instance after losing like 9 warzone matches in a row to empire geared in tier 3 gear that half of them got during the Ilum exploit.....2 friends logged out in frustration. We are barely hanging on.

Let's not get to crazy....Gearbox needs to focus on a good Borderlands sequel for now. Let Duke hang out in the back alley picking up skanks for now. Borderlands is a much more interesting ip to develop right now.

If they really want to do something with Duke....go grab the original Duke 3D...copy it piece for piece with a new graphics engine and do a full remake...add some more modern multiplayer modes and call it a day in my opinion.

I have to admit some of that was pretty crazy. When the girl put the controller on the floor to show your Golf lie....that was nuts. Also the baseball part was neat and opens up some neat ideas. Imagine that for a Football game...you actually aim as the quarterback on the throws....or as a receiver aim to catch it etc.

Some sort of a Splinter Cell type game could have alot of neat mechanics with the controller as well. Interesting.

I have to admit I played alot of the first one. I liked it quite a bit. I dont remember exactly why...but it was fun. I think I skipped the sequels. I would be interested to see a reboot of this though.
