Top 10 of September

So I'm considering starting me a new little series and here is what I got. I'm gonna do a Top 10 of September. Here's some rules--
No games that are not released yet are going to be in the countdown--unless a beta or demo has been launched
Games are based purely on what I think so far of the game, even though some of the games I pick, I haven't played. I'm gonna base that on my thoughts so far of the game.
That's about all, if you have any questions, post in the comments below. Let's get this started!
10.
Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 2: Strong Badia The Free
09. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
08. Duke Nukem 3D (X360)
07. Crysis Warhead
06. LEGO Batman
05. Pure
04. Spore
03. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
02. NHL '09
01. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway

I'm still kinda skeptical on this idea so I need you guys' opinions.

I've updated it to where that I only put games that were released in Sept. Thanks to Subway for the recommendation. I also added the links to the game.

LEGO Batman review...

Robin loves walking the tight ropes
Robin loves walking the tight ropes
LEGO Batman has really went under the radar with all these great games coming out. I saw some images and all it really looked like was just another LEGO game, that has some LEGO cred in it,but I've always had a little space in my heart for LEGO games and despite the poor humor and fruserating puzzles this game is pretty great.

The puzzles are very annoying some are really hard and some can be quite easy.Your sometimes wander around for 10-20 minutes at a time wondering what in the world to do next.Until you finally find out that the anwswer was just right up under your nose, which is the worst part. You feel horrible after that if your playing this in front of a group of peopleand you miss an easy puzzle like that...come to think of it, why would you even be playing this game in front of a group?I was embarresed when I told my mom that I was playing a LEGO game. She just kinda gave me the oddest look.

Now I haven't played LEGO: Indiana Jones yet but I played the first LEGO games I did kinda chuckle at some of the lines. But on this one the humor was just plain bad.I guess that haven't realized that people falling down in LEGO form isn't exactly funny anymore and when Robin gives a funny look, it just makes me frown. It's like he's saying "Hey Batman, I'm trying to be funny so try to laugh.".The humor is really bad and poorly done in this game.In the LEGO Star Wars games the humor was cheesy but was still kinda enjoyable.

I also fount this LEGO games story a lot shorter than the others. Most of the others were just kinda long and very easy. This one is kinda hard but very short. It's only 5 chapter, all of which take about 20 minutes to beat.Do the math and you easily got a very short game.

The combat is still very easy and extremely simple. You only got two attack buttons, you can attack with one button and grab with another. The only reason I say it's kinda hard is because the puzzles are so baffling. If you don't use a walkthrough then it might take you a couple of days to beat.I used a walkthrough so I beat it in under 3 hours.
Just look at that face and tell me your not scared.
Just look at that face and tell me your not scared.

The story is ok, your Batman and the Riddler and Two-Face is going crazy making Gotham city a mess and you have to stop them.At the end of each level you have a boss fight you have to fight and they are all very easy. They throw in a lot of enemies...kinda.They put in a lot of enemies but only a few are in the story.

This game adds some cool little gadgets and suits to the mixture. My favorite suits are the magnet shoes one that Robin has and the red suit Batman has that lets him walk through very hot stuff.

First of all the Joker should have been more involved in the story and so should Penguin.I was disappointed they didn't have anything to really do with the story.Although the Riddler/Two-Face story isn't really bad.The two actually make a really good tandom. That makes me wonder if in the next Batman movie, they can hopefully bring back the Riddler and keep Two-Faces character going.Gah, I'm really going off my review topic, I apologize.
Singleplayer:4 stars

Multiplayer:There is still no online co-op!Why?Well at least they kept some offline co-op which is good because my brother doesn't have his PS3 yet so we could still play together offline.I still sometimes hate the camera because I won't be able to walk a little ways off while my brother is crushing plants earning us little coin thingys.
Multiplayer:3 stars

Re-play Value:There isn't really any re-play value for this game. The story isn't brilliant and the gameplay get's repetitive quick, and there is no re-play value added because of the multiplayer. If they would have only added co-op...
Re-play value

That enemy knows kung-fu!
That enemy knows kung-fu!
End It!All-in-all this is a rent to anybody that either likes LEGO games or is kinda interested in them or possibly people that are fans of Batman should check it out.But only a rent though, there is no re-play value to really make you have fun with this for more than a few days.

First blog in a while that doesn't include a preview or review.

Well, I said this is the first blog in a while that doesn't include a preview/review but I lied.I'm actually going to be giving a review update tonight.Well time to get to some stuff!

I want to thank all the people that left positive comments on my last review. At first I had somebody say something about the review being poorly written and that really annoyed me cause I worked hard on the review and I personally though it was one of my best reviews ever.

Well I want to give you guy's a brief update on the girl situation.I think the last time I talked about my girl problems is when I told everybody that a girl had kissed me at the dance when I was dating some other chick. So I'll catch up from there...nothing has really happened except the chick I'm not dating grabbed my butt while I was talking to my girlfriend at her locker but luckily her back was turned when she done it.So last Friday we had our rivals come to town (we lost 49-14 :P) but surprisingly my Tiffany (My girlfriend) actually got to go to the game, but sadly her parents were acting extra bitchy and she couldn't go to the dance. But at the dance the chick that kissed me last time was dancing with my friend, so I was pretty happy.I'm really starting to like Tiffany and I'm trying my best not to cheat on her.

I got a story about our rival game though.Geraldine/Crossville has been an epic battle for years and years (We're C-Ville and our rivals are the Geraldine Bulldogs). And when I got to school last Friday I noticed that Geraldine had came up there to our school and painted our weight room and field-house purple (there school colors), and a lot of the walls said "you suck" on it.I really don't have a lot of school spirit but for some odd reason this really pissed me off.So at the game I got together with about 10 of my friends and before the game we walked to the nearest Dollar General and bought about 8 can's of Dog Food. And at half-time, during there half-time performance we opened all the cans and rubbed it and threw it all over there buses. The scariest part is that while we was opening them somebody came by and we all just hid the food and ran like hell.Gah, that was the funnest time I've ever had at a football game

That's really all I have to talk about right now so I'll go ahead and do my review update!
Review Update
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway:This was my secret review and it's posted.
LEGO Batman: I'm kinda tired so I might wait and write my review tomorrow.
Next game: I really don't know my next game because Gamerang hasn't shipped another game yet but if I had to guess it'd be BAJA: Edge of Control or FaceBreaker.

Well until next time, this has been your native WWE Guru, See ya!

Brothers in Arms:Hell's Highway review.

Welcome to hell.
Welcome to hell.
It feels like it's been 3 years waiting for this game...oh wait it has. This game has been delayed--then delayed--then delayed--then delayed.I think there's a few more delays in that list, but I also think you get the point that the game has been in development for a long time.

This is the third entry into the BIA series and is easily the worst of the three.Which may sound like I'm saying this is a bad game, but it's not.You play as Staff Sergeant Matt Baker as he try's to command his friends in this WWII Shooter.Hell's Highway brings back a lot of the old characters back from the earlier games.Characters such as Red,Baker,Corrion,Jacob Campbell,Paddock, and many others.

It may just be because I just got done with Too Human, but this game is a great game. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have some technical flaws.

One complaint I have is the new "dig-in" system.All-in-all it works pretty well but there is some flaws in it.Like you pop up by pressing the analog stick up, so if your trying to move on the cover to the left or right then you might end up accidentally pressing the stick up a little bit and pop out of the cover and get shot. Also, getting out of cover when your dug-in is a pain.

Another frustrating thing is the grenade accuracy.Throwing them are so awkward. You can't ever get the grenade into a small area like you can in other war games.Your press R1 to throw the grenade which is dumb because usually it's R1 to shoot so you'll find your self throwing grenades like crazy when your in close combat.

I know your asking, if your in close-combat then just melee them!Which I would do...if there was a freaking melee button! This is the worst part of the game.No melee.I fount myself having to reload almost every time I get in close combat which wouldn't be an issue if I could use my gun to hit the guy.Well I pretty much just stated my main complaints so I need to get to some of the good stuff.

The blood and gore! It's great.Sometimes the action camera angle things are annoying but other times they are so pleasing and are so satisfying.Watching people's heads and half of their body's go flying, is priceless and never really get's old.
The campaign is short but oh so memorable.
The campaign is short but oh so memorable.

It's the BIA series so of course your getting the same old story--which is still really amazing.A deep, personal story that really makes you involved in the soldiers life.I'm not gonna say the ending of the game, but it's so damn good and kinda leaves you wondering but is still so worth the three year wait.

The combat is great and the AI is fair.Your team will occasionally act like idiots and run in the complete opposite direction you told them too, but most of the time they are very responsive.
Singleplayer:5 stars

Multiplayer:The multiplayer is nothing special but is still pretty good for a little while but after about 2 day's of playing it you'll realize that playing Call of Duty or Gears of War's multiplayer is a lot better than this one. There is some lag thrown into the online which is disappointing.Another thing that's disappointing is that there is no online co-op.
Multiplayer:3 stars

Re-play value:Most game's with mediocre multiplayer is usually lacking in the re-play value department. But since the story is so good and the combat is fun, you'll probably want to play through this story a few more times.
Re-play value:4 stars

The bazooka team is by far the most helpful of the groups.
The bazooka team is by far the most helpful of the groups.
End It!All-in-all this game is a definite rent to anybody and everybody but to people that are fans of the series or just fans of shooter games, this is a buy.Your guaranteed to enjoy not just the beautiful body parts flying, but the amazing story too.

Previewed:Guitar Hero:World Tour

That is one fugly face.
Guitar Hero: World Tour is arguably one of the most hyped games this gaming season. With it wanting to be better than Rock Band 2, it added a drum set, mic, and song creator. All of which look pretty good.

The Good
Song creator looks very fluid
Songs play fantastic
This game will still be amazing at a party
Online looks good
The Bad
Drums feel kinda awkward
A lot of the songs are the same as Rock Band 2's
Scores
Gamespot:9.0
Giantbomb:5 stars

I'm gonna be getting this instead of getting Rock Band 2, the main reason is I want a new experience and a better guitar, and next would have to be that there is a Michael Jackson song in it.No explanation needed.

Crazy tricks are very pleasing
Wait...this is already out?Ah well, who cares?I haven't played the full version so I'm gonna preview it!Well here's my real explanation for this late preview:one time at school I was really bored so I wrote a preview but lost it next period, but I fount it today so I figured better late than never right?

The Good
Beautiful Graphics
I mean just look at that pretty dirt!
The sound is great
Tricks are funny and well put together.
The game doesn't really take it self to seriously
The Bad
Short career mode
Some of the taunts get really annoying
You only do amazing tricks off huge jumps, which is annoying because there is only a few big jumps per map.
Scores
Gamespot:8.0
Giantbomb:4 stars

I know that the career mode is pretty short because I read Vinchenzo's review of it(Which I highly recommend you checking out).Vince, give me some of your feedback of this preview. You've played the game so I want you to tell me some of the stuff that I might have gotten wrong in this preview.Well kinda of a short blog, I have no reviews coming up so I won't do a review update.Until next time, this has been your native WWE Guru, see ya!

This Force blows

Explosions!
Explosions!
Wow, so this game is finally here. For about a year and a half I've been eagerly anticipating this game, checking out every screenshot or video I could get a hold of.Well, like I said, this game is finally here, and could it be more disappointing?First of all the camera is abysmal, almost as bad as the camera in Ninja Gaiden. The camera isn't 'so' bad during regular combat, but during boss fights the camera is so bad it made me want to rip the game out of my disk tray and break the damn thing in half! The combat in the boss fights are extremely repetitive, all you do is hit the boss with the lightsaber, then force grab and throw, then repeat. The combat is nothing different. It's incredibly tedious and get's really annoying after a while.

Force Unleashed has no shortage of frame rate drops either.I your in a big fight and you want to use Force Repulse or something, then get ready for a frame rate drop! The graphics are nothing more than fair. They look kinda like a late PS2 game. Now that doesn't go for the cut-scenes.They look beautiful. From little dirt on Starkiller's face, to your hair just moving around when you run.The level design graphics are pretty great to.There's a wide variety of levels and only a few are the same. The tagline was "May the force blow your mind" and it didn't blow my mind but it still put's on a good showing. The lightning looks beautiful, especially during the button prompt sequences.

That was a great transition to my next thing to talk about, the button prompt sequences. They get really annoying(like nearly every other expect in the game).Doing the same thing after every boss fight is really uninteresting. Why did they even do that?Who thought that'd it would be a good idea to press the same buttons over and over again after every mini boss fight?I mean seeing the lightning for the first time is great and the second time is still pretty cool, but after that it's just repetitive.(If you've noticed, I've said repetitive
Character design is pretty well done.
Character design is pretty well done.
many times in this review.I just can't think of many more words to describe this garbage err...game.

Now I just have to talk about the best things in this game;the voice acting and the brilliant story. They developers did do some things right. They made the story amazing and really got me hooked on the characters and when something happened to them;I actually cared.Darth Vader's voice work is great.Pretty much all the voice work is great.Emperor Palpatine is looks and sounds absolutely stunning.

Multiplayer:~None~

Re-play value:This game surprisingly has some re-play value.Really if you want to be an achievement whore or want to play through the story again or maybe you want to grab all the lightsaber crystals. It can actually have some re-play value but to most normal people you'll put this down after the first playthrough.
Re-play value:2 stars

This is a horrible sequence--that made me go crazy with fury!
This is a horrible sequence--that made me go crazy with fury!
End It!All-in-all this game is a rent to Star Wars fans just to see the great story unfold before your eyes but other than that this game makes me wonder, who the hell was the testers for this game?I'd recommend they be fired.

Previewed:Fracture and I'm baaack

Terrain destroying is very important in "Fracture".
When I first heard about Fracture I was really confused about the whole thing.I knew it would be one of those hit-or-miss projects.Screwing with the terrain sounds fun at first but after a while, that sounds like it'd get boring.Well they released the demo and I played it, so here's some of my impressions...

The Good
  • Terrain destroying is fun--at first.
  • Combat is fun and frantic
  • Multiplayer sounds interesting
  • Crazy level design
           The Bad
  • Some voice work issues
  • Plenty of frame rate drops
  • The game get's pretty boring after a while
  • Some story quirks

Wipeout Season 1 impressions and a review update!

The big balls are very important to the success of this show.
The big balls are very important to the success of this show.

As you can see by the title and the beautiful picture beside my writing, I'm gonna tell you about the TV Show, Wipeout. If you've never heard of it you can watch some episodes here. Now to talk about the first season. The season just ended with their "Top 25 Wipeout moments" and I must say they was all great and I laughed although I'd already saw most of the Wipeouts. Now despite the absouloutly horrible writing, Wipeout was a very fun show to watch. The screw ups was great an
Wipeout!
Wipeout!
d the obsticles was very well designed and fun to watch idiots try to complete every week.I'll admit though that some of the show's were kinda boring because there wasn't a whole lot of funny stuff in some of them. The main funny in these shows are the wipeouts and falls but sometimes they were just kinda dumb because they wouldn't exactly fall and make it look like it hurt.Overall the season was great aand i can't wait for Season 2
                                                  Review Update!
