Yes, things will evolve, but we can promise you it will be for the better.
No, you can't promise anything. You could have said you are going to try to improve things, or even maintain the course. Saying everything will be better after the main man leaves, is pretty fucked up.
And as time goes on–just like the roster of your favorite sports teams or the cast of a show like SNL–the friends, colleagues, and compatriots that make up that group move on, making space for others to shine while ensuring the spirit of the whole continues to thrive.
If a sports team has their key players leave within a year, they can't just go on pretending nothing has happened. This site was build around a group of people, that's no longer there. I don't see how it can continue to exist. It's like your favourite band replacing the entire line up with in a year, and starting to play a different music style.
Honestly, the only way I can make sense of the way this announcement is written, is if it turns out that Jeff did something really bad. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks for making a site with great people, that I listened to almost daily for a decade. You did a great thing for me, and countless others.

For one of the unanswered questions: drinking salty sea water kills you, because your organs don't like to be salty and they basically try to "flush" the salt away, using stored fluids. It takes more water to flush away a cup of salty water, than the amount of water that's in the cup. So if you only drink salty water, you are basically dehydrating yourself because your body is using fluids to get rid of the salt.
An easy way to see this demonstrated, is the fact that you feel thirsty if you eat something salty. It's basically your body telling you "give me some more water to get rid of the salt bomb you just gave me!" It's why places often oversalt food, to get you to buy more drinks.
If you are ever dying of thirst on a raft however, you can drink some sea water to sustain yourself for a bit longer. It might help you stay alive for a few more hours, which means you might be rescued in the nick of time. Perhaps you might suffer some organ damage, but that beats being dead.
For whom it may interest: the reason batteries stop "giving off electricity" when you turn something off, is because the circuit is no longer closed.Put simply: if you flip the switch, there is no longer a conducting circuit for the electrons to follow, so they stay inside the battery
That's why old electric equipment had a physical switch you had to press to an "off position". Internally it moves a part of the circuit so it no longer connected.

What the dub isn't so much a Jackbox rip off, but it's pretty much the same idea as a segment of 'Use your words'. That one actually does this a bit better, because you are filling in the subtitle for a non-english movie. That way you can also play with the sound of whatever the person is saying. And it doesn't need that bad artificial voice.
