@nosiwohL: I paid full price and felt it was awesome. Make sure you play it on easy and that eliminates the one thing I found a bit annoying-the combat. I will say the combat is not nearly as bad as Brad made it out to be. It is actually really easy. If you play easy most enemies are 1 hit kills and the wall crawlers are 4 hit kills. Some areas actually become enemy free. Just make sure to pick up anything strange you find in the game and do every quest as you find it. The ER did not cover the most awesome quest rewards and you will be excited when you get them. Try not read guides or spoilers either.
Months ago I watched Brad and Ryan's Endurance Run of Deadly Premonition. I thought the game a joke at first, but the more I watched the more I fell in love with it. In February I was bored and decided to go back and watch Jeff and Vinny's ER. I found they did many different quests and got to the end in a different way. This prompted me to go out and buy the game. I put it in reluctantly, expecting to have a horrible experience in the combat sequences, but I REALLY wanted to see all the other side quests. I played it on easy, and what I found was surprising. The combat was not all that hard, and on easy the enemies died very quickly. I guess what I am saying, is that to all the people that said this game sucked or had major issues were wrong. It could have been better, but for a budget title you will not get much better of a value proposition.
I just bought this game and I am finding that the problems people complained about are really not that bad. Maybe I was just expecting them to be worse because of all the complaining, but for the most part it is a great game. The combat is a little outdated, but played on easy the combat scenarios are very short. The only real problem I have with the game is the map, but the bad map actually forces me to learn the town better making it more realistic.
