Them hitting a million now is a shock honestly. Apparently the free month in November really helped (anyone know if they forced your credit card to sign up?), and now they're doing another free month into WrestleMania.

I guess the UK numbers were very good along with the free month. Also, the build up to WrestleMania must be helping them tremendously (it certainly hasn't be the television shows).

Stock price is up to over $12.00 now, and I'm guessing it will grow from now until Mania and WWE subscription numbers drop again.

I don't care how good of a promo Heyman is, I'm not buying into Reigns vs. Lesnar for the next two months.

At least they're approaching it from a good angle. Bringing Roman's family into the mix will be able to extend the build up. I'm sure we'll get The Rock to pop up and cut promos for Roman and maybe one week we can get Brock terrorizing The Usos.

Hopefully they'll be able to get this silly feud between Kane and Bryan out of the way because WWE needs to have a worthy storyline for Daniel Bryan heading into WrestleMania or else the crowd is just going to chant for Daniel Bryan during Reigns/Lesnar promos.

What if WWE just airs last night's Royal Rumble match, and replaced all the boos with cheers? Maybe that'll fix the problem.

@milkman: And the GraciasRoman hashtag is directed towards a soccer player named Roman who announced retirement today.

Triple Threat Title match was stellar and that can't be taken away. Rollins will hopefully successfully cash in at some point and it will be well deserved. Everything he's done in the past year has proven me wrong on whether or not he will be able to hang "post-Shield". Saving his ability to pull off insane top rope moves like what he did tonight for the big matches is what's going to make him a star. Brock Lesnar was also handled perfectly tonight in the weird match he was put in and walked away from the match still looking like a mega star. There is nothing negative at all to say about the WWE Championship Match.

Royal Rumble Match: There's no such thing as having a technically sound Royal Rumble match... it's purely booking. In an ideal world during a Rumble match, you elevate a few guys, make some surprise appearances, you create new feuds that will culminate at WrestleMania, and you crown a winner that sends the crowd home happy (or angry if the winner is a heel). So with that in mind:

Pros:

  • Fucking Bubba Ray Dudley in WWE again. I thought this was fantastic and I really hope he sticks around for a bit (with D-Von of course) and tries to reignite the tag division again. Either way, great surprise.
  • Any time there's a new "Maven" introduced (when somebody is in the Royal Rumble match that never gets eliminated), I eat it up. I'm now patiently waiting to see who goes over the top ropes first in WWE now, Reigns or Axel, so I can crown the "official" 2015 Royal Rumble winner in my head.
  • Boogeyman and Bray Wyatt was a bit of fun. Could have been better. I was really crossing my fingers that Papa Shango was going to come out next to continue this bit of comedy and finally fulfill Bad News Barrett's wish.
  • I will never not love DDP
  • Up until the end, Rusev and Bray Wyatt looked very strong in terms of number of people eliminated.
  • The Kofi Kingston Spot of the Year(TM) was fun.
  • Dolph Ziggler running wild with SUUUUUPERKICKS was great while it lasted.
  • Reigns technically didn't do anything wrong during the match. He's definitely a valid option to win it all. I just don't feel that it's his time, and I'm not the only one.

Cons:

  • They colossally fucked up Miz & Mizdow's tension. I can come up with a million ways of doing it better, including just simply having Mizdow eliminating The Miz when he has an opportunity to. It's that easy.
  • I don't know what they were thinking with Daniel Bryan. If they didn't want Bryan to win the Rumble, just have him sit out for another month. And if you're crazy enough to put him in the match, then YOU BETTER MAKE DAMN SURE THAT HE IS SCREWED OUT OF WINNING THE MATCH. It's a bitter pill to swallow, but at least it would look like you had a vision going forward for the guy that everybody loves so much. Right now as it stands, Daniel Bryan has been defeated by Bray Wyatt clean two times in one week. There's no reason to continue along this feud (that wasn't even a feud to begin with) because Bray Wyatt is the better man in terms of kayfabe and he's got better things to do. WWE pulled the rug out from under the crowd two years in a row during the Royal Rumble match and have paid for it both times. Oh well.
  • After Bryan was eliminated, it was just braindead obvious that Reigns was going to be the winner of the match because WWE hasn't given anybody else in the match any meaningful momentum going into the match. So nobody cared from this point forward.

Are people upset that Bryan or Ziggler didn't win? Did they really expect that?

Two questions: Are you excited about Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar and would you have been more or less excited if it was Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar?

I can guarantee a significant percentage would say "more" to the second question. Those people had that match taken away from them tonight and that's why they're mad.

as a non wrestling fan... i dont get what the big deal is. It was 2 hours of guys sitting indian style on the mat or sitting on the ropes while one or two guys slowly walked around and exchanged punches... I can't suspend my disbelief that much

What did you think of the triple threat match? Serious question.

I wonder what the new main event will be when they change it again in a few weeks.

That triple threat match was pretty good. No way you would ever let Brock Lesnar walk away if you was WWE.
