I've only played a few games but I think the health regen bug that hit basically everything that procs health regen is what is a deal breaker for me. Breaking all those abilities is such a crazy thing, I'm surprised they went through with the patch with all that stuff being affected. As a Warlock main who used health regen Voidwalker in PvP, I feel pretty much forced into Stormcaller. Its harder to say what will happen to the weapon meta outside of Hand Cannons being everyone's default choice now, and I'm not sure if its just early matches with the patch or what, but I noticed it was a lot harder to combat zones in Control without a Shotgun/Fusion with the lack of special ammo but maybe I'm just not used to it yet. As far as the Pulse Rifle changes, I didn't really notice a change with my Hand-Laid Stock Clever Dragon outside of it missing 6 shots.

Overall, as someone who hasn't played Destiny in a few months really, this doesn't give me much reason to come back. I know its still really early in this patch but man, a lot of these changes seem just crazy. I recall them saying they'd be using surgical precision but I don't see much of that here at all.

I haven't played Trials in a couple weeks but I'm down to give it a run pretty much whenever. Also up for Raids and stuff like that.

@ll_exile_ll: "When Rise of Iron launches, the raid will be the only the way to reach the new light level cap, as will always be the case whenever a new raid launches."

I don't think that's the case at all. There's no reason to assume that Iron Banner, Trials or Archon's Forge won't give you max light gear if your light is high enough. They've made so many changes to the way you attain high light level gear in the time since Taken King launched that it'd be pretty foolish for them to throw away all those options for players.

As for the original post, you can still play all the same Taken King maps and modes when Rise of Iron launches. You'll be relegated to the Classic playlists, but you could also do Private Matches if you wanted. I think you're overestimating the usefulness and/or effectiveness of the new artifacts. None of them seem all that powerful.

My biggest issue is the general bugs and jank of it all, second would be all the balance issues. I get its a beta, etc. but BF4 basically destroyed any credibility DICE had for me in terms of releasing a working multiplayer game on day 1. The map in this beta is generally pretty awful. Either you're in the thick of it all at C/D, or you're doing the most boring thing in BF games which is running 500m to the next objective; its just too flat and open for my taste. I don't need another Metro/Locker but these types of maps are always my least favorite. Outside of that, I think the Cavalry melee is just too strong and the fact that you can put on one of the armored "Elite" soldier pickups and then get on a horse is kind of ridiculous. It turns you into an incredibly sturdy threat with all the speed you could hope for, with a pretty great primary gun and a OHKO melee that you can spam forever. Getting used to the bullet travel time has taken a lot longer than I would have liked and so many of the guns feel painfully inaccurate at anything other than spitting distance. I haven't figured out the "right" way to use them yet I don't think. Other than all that though, I really enjoy it. I'm interested to see the other available weapons as well. Having what seems like most of your class be built around variations on the same 3-4 weapons is a pretty odd choice, I'm curious if it'll pay off.

For those talking about the Medic guns, you can switch a few of them to full auto if you really need to clear a building or prefer the full auto type. Granted one has 10 rounds and is strip mag loaded and so full auto is pretty inefficient, but it can save you in a rough spot.

I didn't play a lot of Titanfall 1, so I suppose I'm not really tied to that first game like a lot of people. I don't necessarily mind that "higher skilled" players get their Titans faster, specifically in a game mode like Bounty. Mostly because jumping on other Titans and pulling out batteries and putting them in friendly ones seems to reward you with a ton of charge to your Titan meter. I think that if they highlight this fact more that would help, maybe it'll come with time with the game though.

I don't really like the movement in this. Wall running feels fine, but trying to jump up walls feels so incredibly slow and sluggish in general. I came into this expecting a much faster game and unless you're wall running constantly, I feel super slow. Maybe its just something I need more time with but attempting to jump into windows feels like a guess more than something I can do with consistency, so I spend a ton of time on the ground. I also think the Carbine is too strong, but thats not really here nor there. I haven't run into a ton of issues in the tech test, except for the fact that group matchmaking seems completely broken. Having to leave matchmaking after every match to group back up with friends is tedious and awful but I'm guessing its just the pre-alpha nature of the test.

In general I thought it was just alright. The Titans being more straight up "heroes" instead of loadouts makes them feel super bland after a few goes, but it also makes countering them a little easier in general too; after a while you know Scorch's abilities and how to better avoid them, same with Ion. I never found a weapon I liked better than the Carbine, which from what I've heard was fairly true of Titanfall 1 as well but maybe that was more due to the limited weapon variety. I can't say I'm super hopeful for a ton of weapons, given the fairly pitiful selection here though. In the end it just comes off as super middling, I guess? Not awful, not great.

I'm pretty excited for this, even if I do have the suspicion it will be fairly light in terms of content. A new social space seems like a super weird choice, the Reef is basically useless besides its vendors. Curious to see what they do to Public Events, if anything. Hope the Raid is good, at least. Something less mechanically demanding than King's Fall would be nice. Maybe one where my Warlock doesn't feel like a suboptimal pick, too.

In the end for me it all depends on how much is in it. If its Taken King size I'm more than likely in. I've spent too much time in Destiny to stop now, I'd wager. Anything less than that though and maybe I'll just wait 6 months to see where they go with it. The live support of the game has been just about as awful as it can be, or at least none of it interests me even in the slightest. I'm not really sure how they could revamp Iron Banner and outside of giving us new armor/shaders/weapons to get I don't really care if they don't change a whole lot. Maybe we'll finally see that Fire Thunderlord they showed us in the Taken King reveal trailer?

As long as new weapons are easier to get, I'm probably in. I've been using a Vector and an M1A since launch and I'm pretty fucking sick of my entire build revolving around the same two guns.
