@do_the_manta_ray: ???

@ketta i feel like it's very hard to breakthrough to people these days, online seems more like something that's not part of our daily lives in any real sense, just a place to vent off steam and not bother with the people on the other side. I bet they're still people playing CS 1.6 right now, but how long can such a community last without new blood?

@angryhobo321 Don't you meet anybody anymore that you'd want to stay in touch with?

Let me describe my experience with people over the internet...

1 : You meet people in games and have a good time enjoying each others company. You can either add them to your friends list or end it there. Adding them mostlikely ends with both of you never talking or playing widely different games and in the end, you remove each other because you never talked.

2 : You join a gaming group, you talk but you never play, you never add eachother.

3 : You try to talk to people online in groups made for just talking, however nobody adds eachother unless they're the perfect person for them or an ideal partner.

I'm not sure how to describe my experience in words but it seems to have gotten harder to create long-lasting relations over the internet, i feel like it was alot easier 10years ago.

@rikiguitarist: But after using you loaded rockets in Halo, you'll automatically be forced to reload the next batch. As i see it the debate is now about Automatic reloading vs. Manual reloading.

Manual reloading is a deliberate player choice, where Automatic isn't. But what when you have that like Halo 1's rocket launcher?

@rikiguitarist: @frodobaggins: What i was referring to was the "non-interruptible cooldown" a reload you can't stop to shot. Reloading as a cooldown is fine but a reload where you can't interrupt to shot or switch weapons is different.

The subject at hand is mainly why do we have "non-interruptible reloads" and dedicate a button to it when we as easily could do what TF2 is doing and just have an auto-reload going all the time.

For instanced, the rocket launcher in Halo 1, extremely powerful but with a huge reload time, that cannot be interrupted, meaning that if you're reloading it you can't even change weapons. Now let's take a rocket launcher in TF2, it reloads one rocket at a time and you can interrupt the reload as much as you like. Why do we prefer the Halo reloading over the TF2 reloading. TF2's reloading is much more organic and doesn't put you in a sport where the cooldown is what kills you.

Been playing ALOT of TF2 lately and been rebinding my keys in such a way that now, i do not have a reload key.

TF2 has an auto-reload option, that reloads your weapon whenever you're not shooting, releasing you from the constant need of reloading, not gonna lie, i still have a problem pressing X alot but i'm working on not doing that... X to Explode?

So i've been thinking, why do we still need to reload in most games? TF2 solved the problem by making all it's weapons round based rather than magazine based. So you're loading one round into the weapon instead of changing a whole magazine.

This let's the reload be interruptible without any downsides. If we're not playing Gears of War, were reloading is a tactical advantage to you, giving you a buff if you did it right or a penalty for missing. Then why do most games still have reloading? If there isn't a 'gimmick' behin it, then why implement a non-interruptible cooldown?

If your game isn't about being realistic then why do you need to have that cooldown?

If you want us to tweet towards developers to get them to port a game, please specify the name of the game and a link to the devs/pubs twitter.

Lotta talk about Dante's Inferno in this thread with no mention of Ryan's Inferno.

Who wouldn't want to bring that kind of soul-deadening frustration to new platforms?

Speaking as someone who enjoyed playing it, i found most of the difficulties to be very very easy...

@catoasapun: Try googling and see if there is a price difference for your model. When sending it off make sure you have tracking on your package, in case the other party "didn't get" it.

I always played games in inverted UNTIL... not all games supported that way of playing so i had to conform.
