Got kicked from a TF2 game 10seconds after i joined, all i did was use voice-chat to say "hei" :l
@bojackhorseman You didn't provide any data/evidence, you provided your own anecdote.
@kcin The assertion was that at even the highest tiers of sports nasties were still being thrown around in masses, altho this isn't the case.
In amateur sports you only get penalized for inappropriate behavior if everyone in the game wants to penalize you, like how in video-games you'll only get penalize if the team votes to kick you. But in a professional setting, there are objective observers that will penalize you regardless of what side you're on. In football you'll be timed out or kicked from the game, that's a severe penalty for you team, in some cases the other team would get a free try to get a score off your misbehavior, were as in amateur sports or competitions, you'd only get penalized if everyone agrees to.
We're talking about anecdotal experiences, what did you expect? Ofcourse there is a nuance to how much we require evidence to what people are saying, that one guy that inferred that society was in a much better state in the 50s was something that should be clear to everyone, that it wasn't, such great claims would require evidence to support it, where as my claim that professional sports is more sterile than amateur sports, should be self evident, altho i did present an argument above.
