What's important to me is speed and relevancy. I don't expect you guys to be out with a story first all the time, but it's kinda pointless to see a news story posted two days after another site posted it. I'd go as far as to say if it's been on joystiq for 24 hours, don't bother posting it as most people will probably already have seen it.
Relevancy is more difficult... but I think potentially more important. Some sites like engadget just decide to go the fire hose route and spew EVERYTHING tech related. It fills my RSS feed with junk and I just end up deleting 75% of their entries without evening opening it. Fortunately focusing on just video games narrows the field a bit, but I still think this is important.
edit: oh, and FACT CHECK. Some sites like to be internet-clever and snarky with their news posts. Except half the time their facts are wrong and they just look dumb.
I really have mixed feelings about Mass Effect 2. The story and world are spectacular. The actual gameplay is where I have problems. It's not really that good of an RPG OR shooter!
" I kinda hope that Gearbox can make something decent out of it. Great record in the past and the humor they had in Borderlands could sort of work for Duke. Now, the whole oral service part. I'm slightly uncomfortable with it being in the game. Nothing may be shown but it is suggested and even though all the previous games had breasts and strippers, this is weird. Even though the game's character about T&A, I just don't see it necessary. "
I kinda agree. It seems like their doing it to be outrageous and shock people. Duke was dirty but never blatant like that (at leas that's what I remember).
