Ragnarok Online? never played it myself but that's all i can think of.

It's definitely not RO. It's probably one of the more obscure titles.

I think the "style" was kinda like RO. But it's not a big open explorable world. It's mostly rooms/arenas/dungeons.

If you remember obscure titles like Renewal Online, then you'd probably remember the game I'm furiously trying to remember the name of.

I'm trying to remember an old MMORPG I played when I was very young. Can anyone help me figure out what it was?

  1. It had a fantasy setting
  2. It used a top-down perspective with anime-ish/chibi-ish sprites. Environments were maybe in 3D? I don't remember.
  3. Games were hosted on player-created rooms, kinda like Gunbound.
  4. I think it was mostly PvP???
  5. I remember there was a witch on a broomstick. She was a playable character.
  6. I probably played this between 2000 - 2004. It was definitely before WoW.
  7. There's something about elements? Like catching clouds/orbs of elements? Unfortunately, I don't remember much about the actual gameplay itself.

So now it's actually real history instead of alternate history, according to the article from Kotaku. I didn't think a WW1 setting could've been less interesting but, well, good job EA.

@hassun: I'm not sure about you, but just the design of WW1-era equipment is just off putting to me. I'm not looking forward to shooting bolt-action, slow reloading weaponry and running through trenches like a hedge maze. Unless this is like WW1 but with magic or something (cause the poster boy sure looks like he's from Hogwarts), I'm just disappointed that this is what happens to Battlefield.

Why? Why WW1?

What technology (vehicle, weaponry, or otherwise) would make the early 1900s any exciting?

@acura_max: Miracle Rogue is no longer as competitive as it once was. There are better, more consistent decks out there now, such as Zoo, Tempo Shaman, N'Zoth Pally/Rogue and C'thun based decks. The first 2 will kill a Miracle Rogue before they can get the combo off and the latter 2 has better late game.

Also, your opponent just got really lucky to have 6 pieces by turn 7.

Marketing gimmicks are dumb.

No, wait. No, I was wrong. Marketing is dumb.

@zirilius: Did they say DoW3 will ship with that mode? Man I hope it does and in a robust manner.

@zirilius: Ah. I was thinking of Last Stand. That's the mode where you control 1 hero unit and fight off hordes of dudes right?

Does anyone know if they'll have a Retribution mode? That was the only thing I played exclusively.

I know Retribution was a expansion, was it a mode also?

I assume it was? I don't remember, it's been half a decade.
