Go to the Indie Mega Booth. And check out any small or unknown games you see.

When I went last year there were lines for Evolve and Evil Within but the Indie games are what still stand out to me. It's pretty amazing to have that insider knowledge about a lesser known game so early.

And then go to the indie games outside of the MegaBooth, because there is often more of them and they need love too. They're even lesser known being outside of the MegaBooth.

As an exhibitor, I've never been asked by Reed (the company that runs PAX) or PAX itself what game I'll be showing in my booth. If a list like that exists, it wasn't done through anything official and I'm sure a lot of it is speculation. It's possible this was done before I ever took part in PAX.

I actually wish they did do this, most indies are known by their game name, not their studio name.

I will let any duders know that the Giant Bomb panel WILL fill up and will do so incredibly quickly. Usually, the Enforcers will allow people to start lining up for a panel after the panel before it starts. However, both times I attended the GB panel, there were literally "lines" (closer to mobs) before the line officially existed, and it was generally a clusterfuck when the GB panel line was created.

If you want a really good seat for the panel, plan to be near the Albatross theater around 6:30-7ish. If you don't mind being towards the back of the theater, you can probably get there by around 8:15-8:30 and still get a seat, just pay attention to the pax_lines Twitter account for them to let you know how full the line is getting.

Last year I left the exhibit hall when it closed (6pm) and there was already a lot of people waiting for Giant Bomb (9pm) in a "line". I think the Enforcers are starting to realize that people are going to line up even if there isn't a line and have begun planning for that.

I'll be on the show floor showing off mine and my partner's game, so I might not get a chance to meet you elsewhere. If you want to swing by booth #9165, I'm happy to buy a set.

Both of us made it when not working or going to college. It's taken a while to get it to where it's at now and most of that work was on stuff like the game engine and the in-game level editor. Still a lot to do, but I'm hoping it will be finished by summer of 2013.

I haven't been active on the Giant Bomb site in a while because I've been putting all my free time towards developing a video game with another Giant Bomb member: Charlaxy

It's still not finished, but we think it's good enough to start showing people. I don't mean to spam, but I really wanted to share my work with the Giant Bomb community and get some feedback from one of the best groups of passionate gamers out there.

The game combines elements of a platformer, a shooter, and a puzzle game. Color theory and gravity manipulation both play a major part in the game. Unfortunately this means the game is currently not colorblind friendly, but I am working on adding a colorblind mode.

Here is a trailer for it.

If this game looks interesting to you, you can give it a try at: AreYouSquared.com

Thank you for your time!

When Lord of the Rings Online went Free To Play, Turbine made it up to the lifetime subscribers by giving them free points every month for the micro-transaction store, so now they are able to get everything that comes out for the game for free (as long as they don't waste their points on stuff like healing potions). I'm hoping that Star Trek Online does something similar (I have a lifetime subscription there too).

I currently use an old LCD with an IPS screen and a 16ms refresh rate.  I have never seen "ghosting" or blur or anything else like that.  And my eyes are good enough to see the flickering/tearing effect of a CRT monitor if it's less than 75Hz so it's not a case of me just having poor vision.  My girlfriend has the same monitor and never had an issue in games either.

Yes, years ago LCD's didn't have the best response time and there were some issues, but these were LCD's that had stuff like 30ms refresh rates.  Very slow.  16ms is faster than 60 FPS.  And both of those monitors I linked have half the response time of that (7-8ms).

I think a lot of this response time stuff is just marketing BS or these people are just comparing crappy monitors to see which is the least crappy.  I paid around $600 for mine when I got it so it may just be higher quality than others people have looked at, I don't know, I just know that I haven't had any issues.

Plenty of people have talked about the hardware so I won't post about that, but I will post about the monitor.  I would go with a better monitor if you have the money.  Especially if you are planning on spending so much on a PC.

 http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-9271 -- Dell's U2211H Monitor is a 1920x1080 (1080p) IPS monitor for $239.  That Alienware one is only TN.

Most TN monitors are only 18-bit which means they can only display  262,143 colors.  They also look bad from angles.  An IPS monitor displays all 16 million 24-bit colors and looks good from all angles.  The majority of computer monitors out there are TN because they are cheap to make and when all you see are TN displays next to each other, you can't really tell a difference, but compared to an IPS display, they look bad

http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=224-9949 -- If you really want to be crazy, the Dell U3011 is a 2560x1600 (1440p) IPS monitor for $1499.   They don't even make consumer TV's (yet) with this high of resolution.

There are other companies making monitors like this too, I was just using Dell as an example because they own Alienware and you listed an Alienware monitor.
