@Jimbo_N:  Yeah, when the mini-tut showed up for swimming, after having already done a swimming part, was one of the things that made me face palm. Seemed to be a huge oversight that never should have been.

The game has some minor faults, won't disagree. The beginning portion of the game seemed lacking in visuals as well---I was expecting to be wow'd, not so much.  There's another tool in the game you'll get that'll require either a fluke, or from already have played another game, to figure out some puzzles. I'll let you wonder that till later.

Sorry I couldn't help with your problem though. I wasn't trying to show-off saying "I'm 'da man who has no faults with games!" but I truly had no problems in that area so I'm having a hard time remembering any places that were hard to find.

" And by that I mean taking for granted that you know how to get somewhere even tho there´s obviously no appearent way to get where you´re supposed to go.  In this case its the 2nd (or third?) time you have to enter challenge rooms to free a golem, this time in the drowned valley. One of the portals are seemingly impossible to get to as it is way off the map with no low OR high route to get there.  If anyone know the place I´m talking about please let me know what obvious thing I´m missing. When you get stuck on the most trivial things for the longest time is usually the point I declare that the designers failed and put the game on the shelf... "

Took me longer to figure out what you were talking about than any of the puzzles in the game. ;) The portals in that area took no time at all to find. The maps are confusing at times, but after learning how the elevation is gradated prevented any real further problems. I find that walking away from the game for a while helps. Of course, that logic applies to all things that are troubling. It's funny how much the brain can block out when you're stuck on a linear path of thought.

Now I have to go back and play it on Apocalyptic.

I recycle them, as anyone should.

I don't care to have outdated parts laying around. They were replaced for a reason.

The need, or want, to compare a game to successors appears to be a relatively easy way to get no where. Why not allow the game be what it is? Why is it imperitive to say, "Oh well this has already been done." Well, quite honestly, it's going to be hard to create a completely brand new innovative idea that will be a guaranteed success. There's a good reason why Vigil looked at the formula's that made previous games successful and said, "Lets take this idea and apply it in our own world."---because it works! It's an easy way to tap into a successful business model and make a quick buck because chances are, people who were into Zelda, Metroid, whatever, will see Darksiders and say, "Yeah, this is what I loved before, I should love it again!" And you know what? This is what I've seen, experienced, and this is the reason why Darksiders is selling.

Does Darksiders have an interseting world to build upon? Sure, it does, enough for a sequel and DLC. Is it enough to immediately spin it off into twenty different variety's? No, not really. Vigil will need to take what it's learned to create something more of its own to truly build something new for themselves.

Oh and, for the record, I cringed when I read the comparison of Darksiders artwork to WoW. Never again! :)

First car I paid for with my own money, a 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula. First car I called my own, although given to me, was a Hyundai Tiburon.

" Haha you are looking for DARKSIDERS to bring new ideas!!?  This is the game that IGN completely trashed for being basically a ok copy of Zelda and God of War.  Now a lot of people thought that his review was a bit too unfairly harsh, but the point remains that originality is hardly the game's strong suit. "
Again, I think you missed my point. I specifically said I wasn't talking about gameplay with Darksiders.  I was talking about a neat story and a new world.  You play as one of the four horseman.  Darksiders was my example of an original story, demon's souls was an example or doing the same buy making it tough as nails, and borderlands was my example of an art style with a combined gameplay being something special.  So, please read everything before you comment in the future. "
I think he'll continue to miss your point until he has to agree with you.

I picked the game up yesterday and am loving it. There's a few things that are a little off and there are some places that could be tweaked, sure, but overall at least it isn't a Dante's Inferno complete rip of God of War's mechanics... it's a little bit of everything and executed rather well.

My PS3 and PC setup is a 40" Samsung monitor that I sit about 5' from. Audio for my PS3 is ran through my PC, which is then ran through my Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum, which then goes to my Sennheiser HD600's. I can tell you exactly where someone is running to by just hearing their footsteps. It's what got me into a load of trouble with Counter-Strike---because I just listened, rather than search visually. I'll never buy into surround sound headphones.

I only learned about this games existence yesterday and will be picking it up on Tuesday.

Smashing things, collectables, and puzzles? Should be great.
