Honestly though, it can be much worse. Be glad that you are making money and realize there are quite a lot of people today who'd love to be in your shoes just to bring in any extra money.
I understand it can hurt to have a generalization to be said about the country you live in but to be caught up with something so small is a little much. Though I do probably run into five or so idiots each day simply driving to work... in Delaware of all places.
Generalizations can be said about any country, clique, genre, etc. It's how you care to interpret that information that matters and if it were me I'd take it with a grain of salt as it's all an opinion to begin wtih.
"I drink at least a liter every time I'm at work... free fountains. I do drink diet though, ever since I got braces. I really don't want to fuck them up."
Regular or diet, they're both terrible for you.
I went through braces too and had a Pepsi a day to fend off the caffeiene withdrawal but drank it with a straw to bypass the cement contacts.
You should consider cutting back to one or two a day or ensure you brush your teeth often (but as they say, after 30 minutes of consuming the soda product). You are damaging the calcium in your bones, increasing the risk of diabetes, obesity, and kidney stones the more you drink it.
I used to drink about 5-7 cans of Pepsi a day but, after reading up on it, I've completely cut out that habit and, just recently, started ordering only water at restaurants. I do drink two cans a day of Nestea Lemon Iced Tea at home.
I stopped drinking it cold turkey and had the headache from hell for two days. It was absolutely terrible but when it all went away I found that I had more energy to do things and was more alert. I was no longer relying on caffeine to function throughout the day.
Just give it a thought. You may feel fine drinking a large amount of cola each day, then for a week, then a month afterwards---but what happens months down the road is what'll creep up and bite you on the ass.
