Games I played in 2014

Another year, and another list of games that I have played in it.

List items

  • PC, 2013: This was a fun puzzle platformer. It had a lot going for it that was fun. And i enjoyed the story a lot too.

    Completed: The game.

  • PC, 2013: Got it in a bundle, figure i would give it a chance. It was alright, but it doesn't do anything special or fun... so i might not play it again.

  • PC, 2011: Try placing this game, but it was too 'old 'school' point and click to tolerate. It was like playing one of the old monkey island games, but without the charm, humor, or enjoyment.

  • PC, 2013: This was an interesting racing game. You are a solar power ship, and you have to race towards the sun in order to keep your engines going.

  • PC, 2013: A fun metroidvania game where you dig. The characters were good, the upgrade system worked well, the back tracking got annoying (to turn in minerals for money), and the story was alright, if somewhat depressing and shallow (humans lost a war against the machines and are now zombie drunk thingys that live underground, but for the most part, they are just another enemy type, and don't get much attention story wise).

    Completed: The game.

  • PC, 2014: Been playing the game since it was 'released' and so far am having a lot of fun with it. There are problems with the design, but overall it is fun to play. My main gripe with it is that it doesn't explain how to do certain things (a la, i had to use google to figure out how to disarm traps on chests).

Complete: The game. It was fun, but very buggy. Got 2 incorrect ending parts.

  • PC, 2014: At first i wasn't sure if i was going to even play this game, but after a few hours, i have to say, that am having a blast with it. I don't know if that will continue as time goes on (and i start cheating to get money), but right now it is fun.

  • 3DS/WiiU, 2014: Got this game since it a main party nintendo game. I enjoyed the previous one in the series, and this one is also good. However, i haven't had the chance to play against my friends yet, hopefully i will soon, since that is where the long term gameplay is at.

Update: Played the WiiU version, and yeah, it more smash. I was thinking of getting it, but since i don't have people over, and the amiibo stuff doesn't work with co-op, i decided against it.

  • PC, 20??: Been playing the alpha for this for a while now. Kind of want to get some of my friends into it so that i have someone to play with, but they aren't giving out invites (like other betas do (i.e. if you in one, they usually give you a code or two to share)) to user.

  • PC, 2013: This rogue shooter is alright, but feels like it lacks depth. I didn't put much time into it, and i don't think I will either.

  • PC, 2012: This fruit ninja clone of a game is alright, but seem kind of pointless/bad on the pc.

  • PC, 2013: This puzzle game involves rotating, and a lot of it. The story is trying to be tripy, but it comes off as vague and non-existent.

  • PC, 2012: This is a platformer... a rather hard platfomer actually with a 'cleaning' theme... yeah, cause if there one thing i want to do with my free time, it is clean...

  • PC, 2014: This is a quick action flying game. It was pretty fun, even though, it was light on the content.

Complete: Got to the max rank, and unlocked most of the achievements... so i kind of beat it.

  • PC, 20??: A eco-simulation game where you run a prison. It was fun, but buggy. From my knowledge, this game has been in development for over 2 years, and well... if it ever fully comes out without any major issues, i'll play it again, but as of right now, i am done with it.

  • PC, 2011: Got this 4 player co-op game when it was free for a day... it is alright, reminds me a bit of left 4 dead. But i just couldn't get into it fully. It lacks polish, so while it could be something good, it isn't.

  • PC, 2013: This is a rogue survival game where you have to gather everything to do anything. And that was my problem with it, it one thing to make the user have to gather to survive, but to put a extremely short time limit on it is just annoying. The game would have been much better if it started off in a safe zone where you could do anything, but only had access to a limited range of items, so that you had to explore at your own pace... blah... i just like to explore and this game pretends to be about that but actually discourages it through design.

  • PC, 2011: Been bored lately, so i figure i would give this game a chance. From what i gather this is a racing/trick game of shorts where you are constantly falling. It was some fun, but not enough to keep playing.

  • PC, 2012: Another random game from a bundle that I got a while ago that i figure i would give a chance. And while the combat was fun (i like flying) the overall experience was dull and didn't interest me.

  • PC, 2013: Got it on sale from new egg, and i found it to be enjoyable. It was as good as arkham city, but not arkham asylum. This is mainly due to the lack of stealth parts. I understand people like action, but i am disappointed that is the direction they have taken the series. Batman, imo, is a stealth fighter, he doesn't charge a group of enemies head on. He out thinks them, picks them off one by one... but no more, in the arkham series, they have made him into a unstoppable tank. Hell, one of the intro screen is him jumping on a guy while two guys shot at him... this is totally not what i think batman is... however, it is still a fun game.

Complete: The main story and most of the side missions, i missed like 2 of them, and never caught the riddler, but i don't care.

  • PC, 2010: This game is a standard action/adventure game that attempts to draw the user in with humor. The gameplay is dull, and the humor is hit or miss (usually miss).

  • PC, 20something: A standard rpg game made via rpgmaker. Nothing really worth noting.

  • PC, 2011: A horror fps game that has a co-op element. I got this game a while ago, but that was after it had been out for a long time. I didn't get to experience the co-op, but i get the feeling that it would have been fun. The game itself takes too long, but it does a good job of changing things up. Overall I enjoyed the game, even if, i found it stressful.

    Complete: Single player (solo).

  • PC, 2000/2010: Got it in a bundle, and since it had cards on steam, i figure i would give it a go.

Completed: The game. It was actually rather fun, admittedly i was horrible at it, and had to continue like 40 times or something, but overall, i enjoyed the experience.

  • PC, 2012: Got it on sale on steam.

Completed: The main game, dlc, and all the faction quests. The game... was ok, but disappointing. It could have been a lot of fun, but it lacked polish, and a lot of it. I spent so much time running around not doing anything, or running from place to place, that i felt like they were wasting my time in order to make the game seem big. Also, most of the quest, nearly all of the side quests, were bad.

  • PC, 2012: Got it as a gift for berating a friend with emotes... anywho, the game has some nice music, but is difficult, so i didn't play it much.

  • WiiU, 2012: The game came with my WiiU... its a ok collection of mini-games, but i have no interest in playing it more by myself.

  • WiiU, 2013: This game also came with my WiiU, and even though I already played/beat it at a friends house, i found myself playing through it again. I am already past the second world (getting all the stars and stamps (except for one, can't seem to find it) on the way).

  • WiiU, 2013: Got it on sale a long time before I got my WiiU... and so far, the game is below average. It is a shell of a good game, there are a lot of nice things in it that could have made it great, but there are so, so many issues with the camera and controls to the point where it feels unplayable at times.
