    Overview

Considered to be a stuttering fool by most students and staff of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Quirinus Quirrell was the Professor of both Muggle Studies and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Having a brilliant and intellectual mind, Quirrell was sorted into Ravenclaw House and was bullied during his youth. To prove people wrong, Quirinus began to develop a fascination for Dark Arts and mastered several studies, subjects, and charms.

During the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Professor Quirrell served as the secret main antagonist of the story who became the loyal follower of the Dark Lord, Voldemort, serving him both willingly and uncontrollably. Because he was the host of his "master," Quirrell was bound to wear a purple turban for most of the 1991-1992 school year to hide his secret.

Because of his false personality during Harry's first year, Harry and his friends blamed Severus Snape for the wrongdoing at Hogwarts instead of Quirrell, who was practically the mastermind behind the campaign for the Philosopher’s Stone.

    The LEGO Universe

Professor Quirrell's role remains almost identical to his from the films and books, besides his fate. In canon, Quirrell is murdered by Harry Potter, indirectly caused by Lord Voldemort due to the fact that his soul was a part of him at the time, but in the LEGO games he survived the attack and is bandaged up at the hospital wing. It is unknown what happened to the Professor after being tended to in the hospital wing, but it is assumed he was possibly sent to Azkaban for his crimes and allegiance to Lord Voldemort.
