So is installing it on the 360 required? I thought they didn't allow that.
Rage
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Oct 04, 2011
id Software's Rage combines first-person shooting, vehicular action, and "open but directed" exploration to tell the story of Earth's wretched civilization after a cataclysmic meteor strike. Militaristic authority figures, freedom-fighting rebels, criminal raiders, and twisted mutants battle each other for control of the barren wasteland Earth has become.

Technology is moving forward, not all developers wanna restrict their games with 5+ year old tech just to suit the consoles and be on 1-2 disks.. So it only makes sense that a triple A 2011 game requires 3 disks for a 2005 machine

This game sounds less appealing the more i hear about it. I could buy it for the PC as my rig is capable or running it, or install it on my PS3 but the majority of my friends are on Xbox Live so its a bit of a pain. Ill wait for the reviews on this, ID havent made anything of note since Quake3 and if its going to require double figure installation space i have to be sure its worth it.

Not required.

I plan to get the floppy disc edition for no other reason than the freaking huge box it comes in.
You are looking at 15700 floppy discs here (3.5 inch, rounded to nearest hundred) Which is about 320kg
Edit: @thornie: godamit!

I have a 20 gig hard drive on 360, and I don't have thousands of dollars to buy a PC,
*Face Palm* People still honestly think it cost THOUSANDS of dollars to build a good gaming PC? Sweet Jesus It is 2011!! Sure you can spend 2500 bucks on some overpriced Alienware bullshit, OR You can buy a decent pre-built system with the proper ports (PCI-EX 2.0 for your graphics card) and an i5-i7 and at minimum 4-5gbs of RAM with at least a 500W+ PSU or if you feel like you can handle it. Build your own from scratch, now I may not be the best example because I wanted a higher end system but I spent $1698 in 09 and built a system that is still better than 85% of the stuff out there the only thing I have replaced is the graphics card because I got a GTX570 for 300 bucks and sold the previous card for 125. And right now there are so many options for budget PC gaming it will make your head spin so No you don't have to foreclose on your house just to buy a PC, grab a HP or Gateway on sale somewhere make sure it has the expandability you need throw in a decent Graphics card and Presto your PC gaming.
Cool, glad I have a 250 gig hdd, but that is pretty insane for the 360. Is this the biggest 360 game ever?

@Evilsbane: comparatively speaking - the 360 and PS3 are still much cheaper alternatives to a gaming PC. Plus, as been noted, the install is optional on the 360
Cheaper yes but its still not prohibitively expensive I just hate to see people not enjoy the myriad of options you get with having a good gaming PC because those who don't use it seem to think you have to spend 2000+ to have a good system, I am a graphics whore so I like being on the bleeding edge which is why I dumped so much on mine but you don't have to get the best of the best to have a great PC gaming experience. You can spend $700-$900 and any cross platform game will look and run much better than its the console counterpart. Also I have a 360 & a PS3 just to clarify I am not a PC Elitest I just don't want to see people cut off good gaming options due to misinformation.
I'm pretty sure that LA Noire was something like 22 also...Cool, glad I have a 250 gig hdd, but that is pretty insane for the 360. Is this the biggest 360 game ever?
If only microsoft would've just cut costs and made everyone have a hard drive from the get go it wouldnt be a problem.
