Greetings rock folk,

August 19th DLC is ready to be announced! This week we're hopping into the wayback machine and setting the dial for the early '80s. We've got a pair of tracks each from two of new wave's most influential and altogether awesome bands in Duran Duran and Devo! And as a special aside, the Devo tracks are new recordings from the band, made special for Rock Band! Each track goes for 160 MSP ($1.99).

Also this week we present a track from the Janitors, "Get Your Rock On," which is featured on the American Mall soundtrack. That song will go for 80 MSP ($0.99).

You'll be able to snag all of these tracks on Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, and the PlayStation Network Store on Thursday.

The update was written by one beloved Alex Navarro, if that counts for anything.

I'm not too sure about this set; will have to wait and see.

I don't think I'll be picking any of those up, which is okay 'cuz my 360 red ringed and will probably be on its way to Microsoft by next Tuesday.

Three Doors Down would not be good for anything ever.

However, I will be picking up everything except the Janitors song. Devo = <3 and Duran Duran is a guilty pleasure.

I just heard Get Your Rock On, and I want to cry.

Is there anybody else besides me that instantly thinks of the South Park Christmas special when he hears Duran Duran's "Rio"?

I've only got Rio so far. The guitar is pretty meh but the drums and vocals are fun. After seeing npean's charts of the others on youtube I'm probably going to skip Devo and the Girls on Film...just a smidge too boring.
