Overview
Sarah Angelo is a supporting character in Mafia, and Mafia: Definitive Edition. She is Luigi's daughter who eventually marries Tommy Angelo.
In the original Mafia, Sarah's first and only physical appearance is during the eponymously-named mission 'Sarah', in which Salieri's bartender Luigi requests Tommy to escorts his daughter back home due to the increasing presence of street gangs in Little Italy. After a gang ambushes and attacks the two, Tommy defends Sarah and the two reach her apartment - where Sarah gives Tommy medical attention before they sleep together.
After this mission, Sarah is mentioned numerous times as it becomes known that Tommy has an affinity for her. During certain jobs between Paulie and Sam, Tommy expresses doubts that he would be able to mantain a relationship with Sarah due to his criminal lifestyle. The first instance of this is during the subsequent mission 'Better Get Used To It', when Tommy and Paulie pursue and kill the thugs that attacked Sarah. After Tommy shoots at one of the thugs, he wonders what his mother or Sarah would be thinking if they saw him there.
Sometime later, Tommy and Sarah marry and the two have a daughter together. After the events of the mission 'The Death of the Art', Tommy decides to get in contact with Detective Norman to reveal secret information regarding his past experiences working for Don Salieri. In exchange for this information, Tommy wants new identities for himself, Sarah and their daughter. Norman agrees to help Tommy, who subsequently serves an 8 year prison sentence before moving to the east coast city of Empire Bay with Sarah and their daughter under new identities.
After Tommy's death, it is unknown what happens to Sarah or her daughter. But since they were rarely if ever involved in Salieri's inner circle, they presumably remain living in Empire Bay under their assumed names.
Despite having a somewhat minor role in the original Mafia, Sarah's role is expanded in Mafia: Definitive Edition. Her maiden name is also revealed to be Marino. She first appears working at Salieri's bar alongside her father Luigi, and can be interacted with.
Trivia
- In the original Mafia, Don Salieri mentions that Sarah is a bad cook.
- Contrary to this, in Mafia: Definitive Edition, Sarah is said to have great cooking skills by several characters.
- During the 'Running Man' mission in the original Mafia, one of the potential passengers looks very similar to Sarah - they even share the same voice actress. This could either simply be a developer oversight, or is intended to be Sarah.
- Sarah is voiced by Cara Buono in the original Mafia, and portrayed by Bella Popa in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
