@FrankCanada97: "DPS" is an MMO term. It stands for Damage Per Second. Basically, it means someone who can kill stuff real fast with big damage-dealing hits. A character with a low DPS takes several rounds to kill a mob* while a character with a high DPS can one-shot kill at target. *"Mob" is also another MMO term. It stands for "mobile" and goes back to Everquest. Originally it meant any object in a game that moved, but has been refined over the years to mean specifically enemies that move or attack repeatedly. In my previous post, I was trying to point out that Yukiko and Teddy's magic skills are very effective against the shadows (more so than Chie's), even those who don't have a weakness to fire or ice, respectively. Later, since both get skills that remove resistances, they can kill just about anything. Several of the early bosses were killed by primarily Yukiko during my run through.

@FrankCanada97: I wasn't really trying to be precise. In my original post on the subject, I was just drawing a parallel between the character classes in MMOs and who would fit that equivalent in P4. Besides, I tend to use terms like DPS and "Tank" (another MMO term) more generally outside of specific MMO conversations. Call it a bad habit, but a "wicked DPS" could mean someone with heavy damage per second within the timeframe of combat or simply someone who kills stuff real good. Same thing when describing someone as a "strong tank." I could mean someone who is able to hold aggro and withstand the damage a mob is deal it, or just someone who can take a hit to the jaw and not crumple. Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes analogous relationships don't translate well over message boards...or it could be I suck at them. HA!

You people should really also give your reasons for your choice. So I'll start, my decision was that Chie, Yukiko, Rise, and Naoto were all unique in their different ways and that made it difficult for me to choose one over the others.

Actually, at the end of the game they are 16 (Rise and Naoto) and 17 (Chie and Yukiko). Plus, the age of consent in Japan is 13, thus, what happens at Christmas Eve.

Naoto just doesnt feel like a character that could even remotly exist in real life. A 15 year-old detective who wants to be a man and is a proffessional melon smuggler? Yeah right!

My heart remains true to Yukiko despite all these flash-in-the-pan upstarts. I can understand the attraction (and I don't just mean physical) to Rise, but why Naoto? That one is lost on me.
