If this has english sub titles I'll watch it. If it comes out later with english voices and all of them are from the game I'll watch it. If this comes out on blu-ray in North America I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm really curious as to how they are going to handle this tonally. One of the things that was really appealing to me (and made the last act really off-putting) was the fact that P4 seemed to me to be almost a parody of JRPGs and anime. I'm wondering if they are going to preserve that or play it straight.

Nah, P4 was straight up slice of life with action. It's pretty much your standard anime thing that's popular nowadays.

I don't get how you can say that. Yeah, Persona 4 has some(a lot, actually) intentional comedic elements. But to call it a parody? Ridiculous. And a parody of bad Jrpg's and anime?

 At least with anime you have the whole highschool thing, but JRPG's usually suck Tolkien's dick hard with shit like elves, swords and magic. They feature effeminate spiky haired dudes saving the world from a thinly veiled religious figure by fighting monsters with oversized swords.Persona 4, on the other hand, is a lighthearted colorful Scoobydoo-like murder mystery with very neat aesthetic design.

  Up until shit goes down with Nanako, everything in P4 too me was delivered with a wink and a nudge. That's not a bad thing. It's what I like most about the game, actually.

Well, yeah, but it has something over the others: art that isn't terrible and comedy that doesn't want you to kill yourself. The murder-mystery thrown into the mix really helped it establish it own identity as well.It also lacked pantyshots which put it above those shows on a objective level.

 And I fully agree with you on all accounts!

......However, I don't think that makes it a parody. Just a humorous work.

Those are the names of the Japanese voice actors, not the characters.
