Not really... Patrick assumed they'd lose the fight on the first try, but discussed using the barriers on their next attempt.

I'm just wondering what was in those chests behind those two man eater plants they were too afraid to go after. I could understand not wanting to tackle those guys after the problems they had, but with such an assortment of fruitful chests on that mountain and the save point they found not two screens to the right, I figured they'd go back and take the risk.

I'm glad we're not gambling on these things... yet.

Also you might want to equip some of those ruby/red vests, that'll cut that fire damage in half.

The Ruby Vest will cut fire damage by 50%, the Red Vest will heal you for 50% of the damage it would do. It makes the fight almost trivial knowning that the boss will heal one of your characters for more damage that it'll actually do.

I don't know why everyone is trying to give them tips. It's already been established that a majority of the episodes so far, if not all of them, have been pre-recorded far in advance. I don't blame them, with all the other stuff they must have on their minds for the end of the year.

Coming back to this after listening to the last end of 2011 Bombcast..

Yup, especially when they complained about Bobo's heal not doing enough when they could bring in Marle and use her healing dual techs.

I loved how last week so many bitched about not killing the rocks and in the first 5 seconds of this episode Patrick says, "Lets go kill those rocks.", especially knowing this episode was recorded a week ago.

well they got wrecked by a single golem, so two more powerful versions simultaneously seems problematic lol

@slightconfuse: They could also use Water attacks on them, considering that the Golem's water attacks are pathetic compared to their other attacks.

But then again, they didn't even figure out the copycat gimmick of the Golem on their last encounter, considering they only used physical attacks on it (and the Golem's physical attacks are the most damaging of the lot). This will be pretty interesting!

Hey, remember those chests that gave you barriers? Yeah, about that.

I knew this boss was going to force them to step their game up a bit. They have a ton of options; Fire-damage-reducing armor, magic-damage-cutting barriers, and strategic adjustments to name a few, but the best thing they could do is just speed the hell up with their input. I'm sure they'll get this done in the next episode.

Also the weapon they bought for Crono is worth it because it does 1.5x damage to certain enemies, typically ones that mostly cast magic. Plus it's PURPLE.

Hey y'know what's even better than magical barriers? Armor that fuckin absorbs fire, so your healer is always healed.

@xobballox: Interesting, I always see it like the Tritoch crystal at the beginning of FF6.

Giga Giga is when Chrono Trigger's training wheels come off. They're gonna have a hard time brute forcing this one.

They already messed up on a few of the time chests, so they'll probably not get the 100% anti-red and shadow suits, with those this fight becomes a cakewalk.

Episode 26.

I never would've guessed that someone would think to use Lightning 2 in like every single battle. It's just, like, regular battles are not dangerous, and you can just use normal attacks, and then spend like 4MP on a heal spell or something. Burning 8MP every fight to take out weak-ass busters, it's just hilarious that they never reconsidered that strategy.

But it is more funny to watch than just doing what I have been doing, hitting the A button as fast as I can to get the next few regular ass attacks as fast as possible. They at least were experimenting for a bit. Though, as I haven't watched this one yet, if they just start using lightning 2 all the time from here on out that might get kinda boring.
