Just saying, but Bagus does get some triple techs with certain party members, and they really should swap some of the other characters in. Not that there is a wrong way to play, but it is sorta missing some of the greatness by ignoring some of the perceived weaker party members.

I usually don't say this, but they should read a faq.

I'm glad they decided to do some side quests.

Love the ER. Try to post something positive every episode to drown out the vocal minority cry-baby whiners.

This ER is great. But one thing... CURE WAVE!

...but look at the giant psychedelic frog!

It's true that they've neglected a lot of techs, dual techs and characters but I think it's possible to beat the desert skeleton with the Brono, Brog, Bobo team they're using now. They just need to use their turns more efficiently.

For example: when Brog was dead, wait until both Brono and Bobo have full action bars, then cast Life and Heal Beam in quick succession before Retinite has a turn. Use long casts to queue up other attacks, as Ryan mentioned. Also, use dual techs to maximize damage per turn cycle after Brog lowers Retinite's defense with water.

Also, use items. Brono can take over as healer for a few turns by using the Lapis they've stored up. Each lapis heals 200HP to the whole party, roughly equivalent to Bobo's heal beam. This will free Bobo and Brog to use one of their dual techs, Blade Toss (which should damage both parts depending on placement) or Bubble Breath, which might not do any damage because of the water aspect.

Finally, they shouldn't have such a defeatist/negative attitude. When they start losing a fight they use it as an opportunity to whine about the game, rather than experiment with new techniques/strategies. When I fought Retinite it was with the same team and both Brono and Bobo were down and Brog had to finish off the bottom half by himself. It was awesome.

Their negativity extends to their view of the game as a whole, like when the screen brightens when a character casts a spell. They attribute it to the limitations of the SNES hardware, rather than a deliberate lighting change by the designers to depict the power of a character.

That said, I'm thrilled that they're playing a game I can play along with. Read the comments, guys! It's much easier to endure when you've got the GB community behind you!

I doubt they're actually doing this, but it'd be fucking hilarious if they actually are reading the comments and just avoiding using peoples advice to troll

No, they saw it. They probably just forgot about it in the heat of battle. And they probably don't know how much it heals.

@GoneZombie: I don't think they are reading the comments to do it, but some things are obviously on purpose. Which is fine, cause they always fix it the next episode. First they get everyone screaming at their computer that they forgot to use th time machine, and the next episode they are just like 'oh yeah, let's use that time machine thing. Patrick may even just remember more than he lets on. They never take it too far, so it's all in good fun.

I had a feeling they wouldn't make it on the first try in the desert. The side bosses in this game are a big jump compared to the story bosses. I'm not sure they will be able to bumble through them wasting mana and attacking in very poor planned order.

They should really use the dual tech heal that fills everyone up when they get in trouble too. But neither of them will ever read the comments, so everyone here is pretty much just talking to a brick wall.

EDIT: Lollzies! I find their second attempt more amusing than the first. Welcome to Chrono Trigger boys, you can't play it terribly anymore if you want to go further.

Just like all the previous ERs, they do read comments but they will not admit to doing it, and if the commenters tell them to do something and they do it, they will act like it was their idea.

They should be more upfront with things like this, especially for the people who never watched the old ERs and are getting upset at the whole act they are putting on.

Oofa, I don't blame them for losing to the skeletor. That thing killed me more than any other creature in Brono Trigger. Though I wish they would at least take a better look at their techs, Cure Wave and Confuse would probably have saved the day. Not a big deal though, they can probably win either way.

Keep it up! I'm glad they'll be hitting all the sidequests, what comes after this quest is probably one of the most meaningful moments in the game if I recall.

Not sure if anyone has said this but perhaps they shouldn't eliminate the Core first...

I think it's cool that this game offers a bit of platforming mechanics; things to be avoided or dealt with in real-time unrelated to turn-based fighting. Those Lavos Spawn were still unsettling and I thought it was neat how they had to use one of their shells to reach the next area. The Brono revive cut-scene was well-done.

Now I don't play these kinds of games and I don't want to seem like a backseat Endurance Runner, but what's the point of collect all those Elixirs, Ethers and tonics if they never use them? Instead they use up MP on Heal Cures that don't seem to restore that much life.

Brog: Could it be? Doth the Endurance Run draweth to a close...?

What a crazy episode. That desert boss really seems to be a bit of a motherfucker. Looking forward to some side stuff however you may decide on the whole situation with your current quest.

Ignoring Confuse in favour of Spincut. Forgetting that they can use DualTechs and even Triple now that Brono is back. Not experimenting with other teams. If these guys weren't humourous, I would have stopped watching this for the boneheaded way they tend to play .

They were using Water 2 too much, every single time brog wasn't healing he was casting water 2, brono could get off 2 or 3 attacks before having to lower his defense again

They need to use confuse and cure beam. It's killing me slowly inside. Still fun to watch them try to work their way through the fight though.

A few simple tips on the off chance that it does get read:

1) Brog's the one that dies all the time, yet Bobo has the HP+ accessory and is currently over the max. Bobo is the slowest character, yet Brono has the Speed up accessory.

2) Brog and Bobo have a full heal all allies dual tech.

3) Dual and Triple Techs can better exploit the limited vulnerability caused by his increasing defense.

I wonder if they'll fuck up on the Bucca part of this sidequest?

Destroying the core first is the biggest mistake. The boss goes crazy after that.

@SilenceUK: Because when Brono attacks he did around 650 right? if he attacked a 2nd time he did over 400 then over 200, he could at least pull off 2 attacks before Brog uses water 2 again, otherwise brog is just wasting his turn

This. I wish they would experiment with the characters and team techs more! Hopefully the crushing defeats will cause them to look more closely.

But so far its been very good to watch, and its not their fault, as the game hasn't needed them to try harder.

magus dont need dual tech his later spells are awesome and his elemetal stuff is great as well. My team at this part was chrono,ayla and magus. hope they use some dual tech those hurt a lot.

also hope they realize that confuse hit 4 times

But to be fair that's the point of the Endurance Run. For both of them to technically play the game. In P4 Vinny rarely did an action without Jeff's agreement. They are supposed to make decisions together.

just her legs get crushed by the machine. Which is why when they met her earlier, she was sitting. She talks about an accident which crippled her years ago. You can read about it on the Lara page.

So when time freeze brog and bobo go on a quest to bring brono back to life... they'll end up swapping the clone of brono for another clone of brono... won't they? Because they'll think the clone was real brono when it dies.

You guys are forgetting about Cure Wave? It's a really good cure dual tech. Just use Cure wave, and you won't have to keep spamming heal beam with Bobo.. Oi vey.

If only they had an attack that does the ultimate damage. The ultimatest damage to bring to bear on their enemy...

Also Frog Squash is only useful if Brog is low on HP. For example if he has 1/999 then Frog Squash will do a shit tonne of damage. The healthier he is the least useful it becomes.
