Great to see this though that kangaroo in the background looks suspicious.

Edit-sold on No Man's Sky as looks amazing, plus (touched on here with consequences in games) after playing a lot of the Call of Cthulhu RPG, it'd be great to see something like Day Z or Call of Duty where the better you are...great here's lots of perks but you also start going insane or hallucinating more, leaving you with a more measured approach on who to shoot in games.

anybody got the link to that gamespot interview with Dave Lang?

here. It's pretty cringey.

Danny brought out the real Lang. Here he is being all cool, professional, on-point. Literally 10 seconds after Danny shows up Dave Lang is loudly saying "fuck John Drake" on a live broadcast.

God bless both of them.

Haha, wow. Some people are got real angry on the YouTube page. This is what happens when Danny's been on one too many Unprofessional Fridays and forgets that he's not on Giant Bomb! (he should just come over already)

It was fantastic. I had to listen to the straight up "Fuck John Drake" comment like 10 times. The angry comments are pretty amusing when you know Lang and Danny via Giantbomb, though are understandable to those who don't know.

Edit: Kessler was great.

How does anyone take this industry seriously?

Also, I will give you all the money if you generate this level of candid content with important professionals outside of conferences.

Somehow you got some of the most important gaming executives from Microsoft and Sony for your weird livestream, in the same room as Dave Lang and Johnny V no less. Well done Giant Bomb, well done indeed.

Amazing show and impressive roster of guests for the night. Kessler's pie comment and pausing while he looked for the right PR response to the Vibri comments was hilarious. I'd love to see a one on one interview with John Mamais. He came off as a somewhat quiet or reserved person but I thought some of the points he brought up about the PC were great and echoed some of Jeff's recent comments that E3 really is a console show.

This was gorgeous.

"SUPER. SMAAAAASH BROTHERSSSS!!!"

"Are you supposed to give up after three months?!"

"Where does it come in?"
"I don't think it's a beard.. I think it's mostly neck at that point."
Jeff - "Matt Kessler - Mostly neck."

Man, I couldn't catch this live, but kudos to Patrick for booking some great people. Shu was way more relaxed and open than I ever would have expected, which was awesome, and Phil Spencer was too. Beyond that I thought all the guest combinations were great.

But yeah, seeing Shu and Adam sitting around drinking and talking conversationally with Johnny and Lang was pretty much the best. GB doing big things.

Side-note: Jokes aside, there does seem a bit of tension/awkwardness between Shu, Adam and the Insomniac people.

Broshida

I sometimes roll my eyes a bit when I hear some people freak about Vib Ribbon knowing 99% of gamers have never played that game. Only reason I ever played Vib Ribbon was because of a friend who, for whatever reason, only ever imported his PSX games. I love Vib Ribbon but the Grim Fandango exclusive is much, much, much, much bigger in my opinion.

I am super, super excited for Disney Infinity: Marvel...whatever its officially called. Super jealous all the guys there have Marvel Infinity stuff early.

Also, this is the first person I've heard say anything bad about developing on PS4 or that there is lots of "trial and error". In fact, I've heard developers on multiple podcasts say the exact opposite for both machines.

Does anyone know the story behind the name of that company? Googling it is no help.

What a fantastic show and the guests they had were just crazy. My opinion of Phil Spencer has definitely changed for the better.

Eurogamer wrote about the history of CD Project last year and it is very much worth a read.

They started the company to import CD games from the US, so I guess CD Project (or the polish version of it) was as good a name as anything to put on the form at the Tax Office.

Oh, yeah, that was a fascinating shift. Danny is fucking fantastic.

Also, I can't be the only one who thinks Sean Murray looks eerily like young, Das Boot era Jürgen Prochnow?

So I was looking at my Vita yesterday and noticed this port on the top I never realized was there before. Looked it up and turns out it was intended to be a HDMI out. http://www.chdist.com/category/workbenches-and-workshop-furniture-workshop-computer-workstations-298263.aspx So close Jeff!

These are the best part of E3. So glad to see that Giantbomb can pull in such big guests, bigger and bigger names each year (and then throw them on a panel with Dave Lang... lol). The pros in the industry must like Giantbomb as much as we do to agree to show up on this nonsense.

Broshida is the fucking man, classy as hell and yet also a funny guy willing to joke around and be silly. Phil Spencer also gained my respect, seems like a genuinely nice dude with a lot of love for video games, giving lots of praise to his competitors, much respect. Palmer is an endearing, prolific nerd, which makes me trust VR's future in his hands. Johnny V is adorable and so are the No Man's Sky guys. Dave Lang needs his own reality tv show, that is all. All the other guests were great too and Jeff was on point as usual, only wish there was a little Vinny thrown in there too.

@dustoman: Yeah, I think Shu may have misunderstood what Jeff was asking about that. I think Jeff was just talking about using a Vita as a controller for the PS TV to achieve full game compatibility because you have the touchscreen right there, and it seems like Shu was responding to the lack of HDMI out. Maybe I'm the one confused. Still looking for a straight answer to that question, but I'm guessing it's not being answered for a reason. I've heard a couple failed attempts before this one.

I could watch Jeff, Vignocchi, Adam, and Lang all day long, man.

It's funny, I saw some reactions to the Sony press conference on YouTube, with people saying Adam wasn't funny, and others saying he "seemed like a real gamer" and stuff, and I was just like - if only you fuckers knew.

Going from that amazing Phil Spencer segment to... uh... the wonderfully awkward Kessler. Now that was toasty.

...

....

Toasty.
