I had the same reaction as Brad when Jason brought up Street Fighter V again.

I thank vr porn for bringing back the random chatter at the start of the podcast, it's one of my favourite parts to listen to and i'm not a fan on the last few months trend of "let's go straight to this week game/gaming topic" just 2 minutes in

I guess I'm taking a break from Ratchet and Clank to listen. And that's a sacrifice. This game is hilariously good fun.

I have a 980ti and a fairly above average PC in the other categories, no crashes in DS3 yet after ~10 hours.

Star Fox Adventures is the best Star Fox game.
Way better as an action/adventure game with very little Arwing missions.

Also Star Fox Zero is only a full priced game at retail, it comes with the $15 Star Fox Guard.

VR sex, the next generation time killer.

The only Star Fox games I actually played were Adventures, Assault and Command. I wanted to like Adventures and Command badly, but eventually got bored with both. I rather liked Assault's orchestrated soundtrack and the flying levels, but the on foot stuff was too easy. Kind of interesting hearing Dan's early impressions on Zero, maybe this becomes this year's Kirby and the Rainbow Curse?

After holding off until today to start Dark Souls III, I managed to put in a solid 12 and a half hours. Haven't sat down all day with something like that in an age.

Giantbomb does not need to do VR porn, unless they offer something new in VR technology.

I have Star Fox Zero reserved to be rented with my subscription, so thankfully the expensive pricing for such little game doesn't apply to me

Anyone else not seeing this come up in overcast? Maybe overcast got blacklisted on spam filter by accident again. I have it added through the RSS (ofc because premium) so definitely not an iTunes issue

I picked up my N64 a decade after launch, picked up the relevant titles for super cheap and played them for the first time. My favorite N64 title after smash might be Starfox (or paper mario). Playing Starfox 64 in 2006 was amazing, because it wasn't loaded down with bullshit. It's at least a decade ahead of its time in terms of delivering a compact amazing game that you can keep coming back to over and over and see a completely different and new set of games. I know, no matter how good or bad my run is, I'm going to have a good 60-120 minute experience, and then I'll be done. And not just a disjointed experience, a full beginning, middle, and end. The levels are deliciously short so you can beat them between commercial breaks.

Precise, concise, repeatable gameplay is something which when premium games started doing it a decade later they were lauded for. If you get an amazing experience in 2 hours, that is better than a bad one over 60. There are super valid complaints against StarFox, like I can respect someone who thinks on rails arcade flight shooters are dumb, but complaining that they're too short is to just misunderstand the genre.

So far I haven't experienced any crashes with DS3, luckily! However I am using a 700 series cards, 780s in sli and an i5 6600K and got a steady 60fps on max.

Wait, there's a Ratchet and Clank film coming out? I go to the cinema a lot and have never heard of this at all.

GGPO is actually a lot better with higher latency connections in fighting games, @unastrike. Especially when you can adjust the delay manually. SFV doesn't use GGPO, it uses its own custom rollback style netcode and it's straight up broken in high ping matches. The one-sided rollbacks and desyncs you and everyone else experiences should not happen, and won't happen in something like GGPO, where the rollbacks are slighter and happen to both players to keep them in sync. No one gets a crazy advantage like SFV where one person is hit with an insane amount of rollbacks while the other person sees very little lag, if any.

The shitty part is, it's probably never going to be fixed.

As for Dark Souls 3, your best bet to avoid crashes right now on PC is to set the Lighting to Low, but you have to check it every time you relaunch the game as it often resets itself to medium or high, even with auto-detect graphic options disabled.
