Arrogant? Arrogant?? What, is the game so holy and venerable that those that dare to not enjoy it must submit to the 10 trials of reasoning as to why they came to such fallacious claims? Not everyone sits and ponders why they don't enjoy something. Sometimes you realize you don't like something, and you just move the fuck on with life.

does a new game in a series need to be like prey 2 for these guys to say anything other than 'its just more ____'?

I thought the same thing as Jeff about Tales from the Borderlands. Telltale writing that one sounds like it might be actually funny and entertaining instead of that meme clusterfuck that Borderlands 2 was.

Sort of both, what annoyed me about the creatures is that they would flip out sometimes and just run for a few moments and then stop, then do it again, also sometimes they would turn around as I was sneaking up on them instantly or see me around a corner as I'm in cover, just really weird inconsistencies at times.

It was definitely really dumb when Ellie would literally walk into enemies and they do nothing, I'd rather they just let you tell her where to go and stay even if it meant leaving her in a different room most the time.

I could listen to the premium version but these ads are great XD

@mormonwarrior: My dad listens to Hannity and Limbaugh, I feel pretty safe in saying they're hateful, racist assholes. Both guys(especially Hannity) acted like George Zimmermann was the hand of God for months. You can't take that much pleasure in the death of a kid without being completely fucked up.

I feel like the payoff for the friendly A.I. is that they can actually be quite helpful in those situations, so when you otherwise wouldn't know when an enemy is coming and/or nearby, you'd know they would be since the friendly A.I. reacts to it physically and verbally (though not always verbally), and while they're close to you, when you're often out of something, like ammo or health, they'll hand you some right when you need it.

They can also help just by distracting enemies with bricks or what have you, though that's also a welcome rarity, though what you may call inconsistent. The clickers don't bother me, I feel like what they do and how it works is all intentional, and not necessarily a mistake on the developers end, though it's understandable how you may dislike it. Plus, they all react differently depending on difficulty.

The part where the enemy A.I. won't notice friendly is one of the only problems the game has to me personally and it's a problem that's really negligible because of some of the payoffs I mentioned; if you had it any other way, such as the way you mentioned, it just wouldn't be as satisfying to me. There's some visual problems too that are very small and hardly worth mentioning, and when you're at the college section, when you're running around the interiors of the dorm rooms, you'll notice that almost every room has the same photos on the wall; that's probably the biggest aspect from the entire game that takes me out of it.

I feel immersed in the world; I think about who inhabited the places I visit in it and what life was like there when things were more peaceful, and to see the same photos on almost every college students wall was jarring because the story being made up in my head to make sense of that is quite dumb, but that's how immersed I was in the game.

Why ads in the podcast? Does not CBS bankroll you bastards enough that now you advertise on the Bombcast?

Is one 30 second ad in a 3 hour podcast that much of a problem for you, or are you just trolling?

I've had the misfortune to listen to a good bit of both Beck and Limbaugh and if anything, the GB crew were generous in their impressions of them. They are hateful, vile individuals who profit off of other people's ignorance and fear.

Something isn't right here. How the fuck would Fry know whether or not ads existed in the 21st century? He only made it to the end of the 20th century, save for a couple seconds while falling into the cryostasis machine. Man, I knew that show was bullshit. I want all that ad money Fox, Adult Swim, and Comedy Central made off my eyes.

The premium member version of the podcast is ad free (the staff generally do the ad spots pretty funny though, so I tend to listen to the free podcast just to hear the ads). They need to monetize the site somehow, that much was said long before the CBS acquisition, though I'm sure there may have been more pressure to actually find a way to make money through the site after CBS got them, probably expecting a return on the investment. The podcasts seem like a pretty natural place to start advertising in, since there's likely a very large portion of the listener base who only listens to the podcast but never visit the site.

The ads are hilarious, I don't get why people complain. I'm a paid subscriber and I listen to the ad version to hear Jeff and Vinny ham it up. It's great.

The premium ad-free podcasts are a separate feed, check the Podcasts menu in the top bar and click the Premium Podcasts link, subscribe to it in iTunes/your podcast grabber of choice (it'll ask you for your username and password) and you'll get the ad free bombcast and all the other premium podcasts they do.

Man you are way behind as ads have been on for a while now. They are also only on this version of the podcast so if you are a subscriber you don't get the ads with that I'm a sub and I still listen to the ads as they are normally fairly funny.

@brad Not sure if anyone answered that, but there is one hold-out in analog recording - Steve Albini, former member of Big Black and current member of Shellac, the Chicago recording engineer behind Nirvana's "In Utero" and Pixies "Surfer Rosa". He still records purely analog and is firmly against digital, to the point that when his studio got a digital rig, he refuses to work on it or even acknowledge its existence.

And it makes a difference, to be honest. Few people record drums as well as that dude.

Jeff is simply not a good journalist if he hates Last of Us that much. It controls fine, he probably got to that first actual hard part with the clicker + 4 runners in the skyscraper, died 10x, and quit. The game certainly throws you into the deep end at that point, but fucking struggle and play through it and enjoy the best game of the year, definitely in the top 10 of the generation. Even the multiplayer is great, like it's a solid 10 in every category except appeasing Jeff's idea of fun, which he doesn't explain and I don't remember hearing an explanation back in July either. He just has said all along he isn't into it or some shit.
