@00: Yeah thanks for the input to the P5. I'm kind of interested in getting some new good headphones, and despite some of the flaws you bring up with the P5 I'm quite interested in those. I'm just wondering if you know anything about the P3. I know all the stuff that you can read in a review, cheaper, made with plastic instead of leather, blah blah blah. So I was hoping that you might have some more insight on the P3 as you did with the P5

Well considering I enjoyed the demo and have been watching a full walk through of the game and enjoying it, telling me not to buy it is just going to make me buy it that much harder. Thanks Brad and you're polarizing opinion!

Anyways RE6 looks bad. I still don't get Jeff's hatred of RE4, it's an incredible game. The aiming was perfect, and it had an emphasis on precision shooting instead of just letting auto aim take over like most console games. One of the reasons I loved it was because of how good the aiming was, and how it rewarded you for hitting headshots by setting you up for melee attacks. The shaky laser sight worked against you but that was kind of the point, to make it challenging. Without that sway it'd be way too easy to hit long range headshots.

Jeff is awesome but the one thing that can be kind of annoying about him is how harshly judgmental he can be and sometimes fails to remember people simply have tastes different than his own. It's one thing to dislike a popular game/show/music/whatever and think it's stupid or bad, totally fine, it's another to be a dick about it and belittle everyone who likes it. Kind of like those snobby hipsters can be.

I remember when he brushed off Game of Thrones in a podcast as "stupid bullshit that idiots watch" or something like that, having never even watched it once or read the books. Made me sigh as a fan of the series, there's really a lot of depth and unique writing, especially compared to a lot of stuff Jeff apparently likes. To trash it and it's fans without even seeing/reading it like that was just lame.

All that being said, words are water. I don't sweat the silly stuff Jeff says sometimes too much, it's no biggie, just chuckle to yourself and let him do his thing. He's highly entertaining most of the time.

The camera pan to Patrick as Jeff is mocking RE6 and Brad's pain, with Patrick just so full of joy about it all, really made my day. 00:43

I haven't watched the last part of the Doom 2 Breaking Cacobrad, but it seems that this one segment is more frustrating than anything Doom 2 could offer.

I actually got all the achievements for RE5 (before all the DLC) playing almost entirely in coop and it was fun as hell. I loved rolling through the enemies on the highest difficulty with unlimited ammo and my Hydra shotgun.

However, the stuff I've seen about this game has really put me off. I don't think I'll buy it, but I'll probably give it a shot on gamefly.

From the public demo, I thought Chris' part was the worst. The controls for getting behind cover were terrible, and shooting stuff like in Gears of War A) isn't what Resident Evil is about and B) barely works in Resident Evil 6 due to terrible controls. Then again, the Leon and Jake parts were bad, too. :( I'll wait for Dead Space 3 next year instead of wasting my money.

Also, Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown next week = double dose of greatness!

It saddens me that Jeff is so down on Double Dragon Neon, and calling it a remake. It's not a remake. It was designed as a new game, with some nods to the original. It's not a terrible game, by any means. It seems that Jeff's categorization of the game as a remake provides a more negative opinion game than it deserves.

Resident evil 6 is doing what CoD4 and doom II couldn't

I'm not too surprised that Brad didn't figure out the mechanics of rolling if it isn't taught or explained in-game, RE4 has its share of people finishing the game without realizing Leon could run. It might be intuitive to some people to try every button and maneuvers as soon as possible, but for others, a situation has to present itself to make people explore the controls. Heck, in Dark Souls, I didn't even realize there was a different attack after rolling or jumping until several hours into the game.

@FZackM: It's just how he is. It happened before with Red Dead Redemption, when everyone apart from Brad was more-or-less "if not for ME2, it would be GOTY", while Jeff was simply bashing it with non-arguments like "John Marston wasn't that good of a character". It even created a hilarious moment when Brad said that Jeff's hating on RDR only because he fails at the horse-riding mechanic and he got all silent for a moment. Ryan can be similar, but he's a lot more likely to back-up on an opinion. I remember he was super, super dismissive of Arkham Asylum pre-release and even during the Quick Look, then it made his GOTY list. He was also on the "fuck Demon's/Dark Souls" train until he played it on some live show and said that he understands the appeal now.

So yeah, they are human beings, have varying opinions and stands on shit, so just remember to take what they say or write with a grain of salt if there's a specific context and it won't bother you much. The only time I really got angry at them for an opinion was during the MW2 boycott, but that was because they got everything about dedicated servers completely backwards.

By the way, it's funny how I don't really like Resident Evil in any iteration, but those first trailers for RE6 got me really excited. Now the more I see of the game, the less I want to try it.

Wow! Within 5 seconds of pushing play, Brad is giving middle fingers to the screen and the camera. This can only mean that RE6 is worth looking at. I know at some point they give onscreen instructions on how to do the roll. Brad could also, God forbid, read the instruction manual. If he can't do that, than it is not the developers fault, nor is it their problem that he can't grasp the most basic mechanics of the game. I know it shouldn't bother me this much, but that is what deliberate laziness in a supposed professional does to me. At least rent the game and make up your own mind.

If it's the same in the final product as it was the demo, then what's shown during the loading screens (or at least some of them) is the controller telling you what the buttons do. That may have been just for the demo though.

No, that game is totally fine. The biggest problem it has is that it's a little slow for a beat 'em up. I was going to beat it, but then my brother never asked to play co-op on it again, so we never did. He bought it.

Brad does know he can change it to the RE4/5 Laser sight in the options right?

I am not some big astrology buff, in fact. I'm pretty sure there is a 64.5% chance that it's largely bullshit. But if it is true, I would say that brad is something like a Pisces or cancer. And jeff is definitely a leo.

If i am vaguely right, then that's part of the reason brad seems submissive to jeff's whim. Leo's are extreme extroverts yet quite likeable. They often don't give a rat's arse what others think, whereas cancers and Pisces are extreme/moderate introverts. They are sensitive - so they care what people think of them - thus them being perceived as weak by people who don't share their starsign.

Brad stuck up for skyrim during last year's game of the year deliberations, and everyone took him pretty seriously. The reason for that is likely because they know the guy does not make a huge stink about something 'all of the time', so when he does. You better believe it matters to him.

And yes, this is an unusual post. I was just doing a bunch of research into my sisters starsign for her. So I figured i would take a stab at it for these guys, judging from a bunch of podcasts that I have listened to.

No I don't. GB is the only game site I use and that shows I have a lot of respect for the way you guys present your views and I don't think you genuinely want games to be bad.

However, all I have heard out of the GB crews mouths about RE6, all the way through the developement cycle are laughs and jokes and hints about how bad it is going to be and how desperate it is. Now it appears you are right which is fine, but for the listener to your podcasts and videos after a while it just feels like a self-fullfilling prophecy which provides you with an oppourtunity to get some laughs at the games expense. However I am happy to accept this is a perception rather than reality.

I'm no big fan of the RE series, so this isn't fanboy rage or anything, and please don't lump me in with the other rude idiots in these comments, just something about your opening video on RE6 being you giving the game the middle finger and telling people not to buy it seemed a little disrespectful. But then I come to GB for disrespect and people speaking their mind so my feelings are obviously a little contradictory.

I think what it comes down to is that you guys have had the inside track on this game so have known it was going to be a clusterfuck from way back, however for those of us who are not in the industry have not and having my first impression be the derision of this ILM was a bit suprising. I guess we are meeting from opposite ends of the RE6 spectrum of knowldege (if that horrible phrase makes any sense at all) and need to adjust our perceptions accordingly.

In my opinion, the demo was very poor so the quality of the game is not surprising.

In a roundabout way I kind of agree. It was just a little shocking to feel the force of the ridicule in that ILM, I haven't seen that outside of a Quick Look before. I am sure the game is as bad as everyone says, maybe I just have a bad reaction to the sound of a group of people ganging up on something.

It just seems to me that so much of the vitriol that Brad has for it is wasted. Most of the issues that this game has, were known quantities going in. Brad just seems so surprised.
