They need to figure out their poster/painting situation - the whole leaning them on the windows ain't doing it for me. They should get a museum-esque hall with recessed lighting and everything.

Isn't Marvel Ultimate Alliance the game that had the extra character DLC that eventually got pulled down and now you can't get it?

Cause I think I got that shit!

EDIT: It is, and I got that shit! MUA TNT! Rockin' The Hulk!

I've never understood that point of view either. Both are pretty good, the sequel didn't do anything (that I remember) making it heinous in comparison to the original. The sequel actually had the branching storyline partway through, giving you something to do on a second playthrough.

I feel like it's a rumor someone started that got real popular for no reason. Good pick for TNT, though.

@beard_of_zeus: It's because the sequels levels are boring as hell compared to the original. In the original you fight in giant pinball machines, and on Thor's ship in outerspace and at Doom's fortress. They also made the tag team combos a lot dumber.

Ultimate Alliance 2 SUCKED.

They fucked that up so bad!

It was even based on Civil War, which is one of the biggest things to ever happen in Marvel comics.

Wtf?

Have you never seen a food item distributed like that before? It's SOP for sandwiches, wraps and so on when they're messy to any degree.

Indeed, this is something I've seen many a time.

Maybe its an American thing. Cant say i see many bagels in the UK

We have kinda gone on a "what product have we not turned in to a sandwich" thing. You can, and I shit you not actually get a salad wrapped up into sandwich form.

Take the week off guys, it's cool. Hell, take the whole month off.

hahah thats what i thought. i wish i could work with them, they've been doing it so long i get E3 is a hassle to them etc.. .but to me, half of what i go to work for is to be able to buy video games - they get to work with them and get them free. id be so excited going o E3 for at least a couple years if they need to pump some enthusiasm back in? :) And the job i work we go in thanksgiving and july 4rth and Easter, with only one week vacation after i work there a year! - they get an extra Monday off because they wanted to sleep. not bashing them, i'd do it too, that's the kind of job more Americans should have I 100% think - less 45 hour weeks 51 weeks a year of office/factory garbage; so they are in a better place than me. Very jealous :)

I mentioned getting free games. This reminded of something from the E3 podcasts. Ryan mentioned to the Harmonix guys "I had to buy my own damn copy of Amped because Sony wouldn't send me one!", and Brad said he wouldn't get a WiiU if he had to pay for it (someone said that). How would things be different in the review world if the journalists had to buy games and systems themselves?

I bet they'd be way more critical. I'd listen to reviews with less apprehension (which is why Quick Looks are the BEST thing ever, you can make up your own mind), its easy to say a crappy free game is "okay". Like with Battleship; Ryan and Patrick were like, "eh cool, only 4 hours but not bad little mechanic". But if you could only afford 1 game a month and bought that you'd be PISSED! Not just laughing about it. (i liked that Quick look, Im just sayin' they didn't buy the game so I question their perspective). Where as Jeff bought his PSP GO so i gave him more credit when he bitched about it.

I know if they couldn't get free games then they would review a LOT less. So i am glad they get them. But still I cant help but think back when Microsoft gave all journalists free 360's and Sony didn't, many journalists didn't buy one for a long time and said the PS3 was "not worth buying". Would they have said that if they had been given one at the press conference? Would Uncharted have been way bigger? Would 360 have dominated the online friend's lists like it did? I know since I paid for my 360 - paying for Live is a big extra cost to me and i won't do it, but they got free 360's so do they mind paying for Live as much as I do? It would be neat to see a behind the scenes about "how much do they buy vs get free"?

I think if the journalists all get free Wii U's, i will be much more skeptical about their Wii U reviews than if they buy one themselves. And i know they DO buy games, im not anti-journalist here, (Vinnie is addicted to Steam sales, and Ryan does amazon.com a lot), it was just thoughts I had on journalists staying in touch with regular dudes :)

I own the Gold Edition of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The only problem I have with the game is that other than Wolverine, I don't know who are the best characters to play as since I can only choose 4 team members, and there's literally somewhere around 50 superheroes or villains you can try out. Too many to choose from.

Other than that, it's a fun game, and I can see why Ryan loves it so much.

I really miss Giant Bomb when they used to put out regular content but it seems they are still in the process of moving, mixed with E3.

The bad thing about the whole Gamespot thing is that if GiantBomb isn't required to put out regular content to make ends meet, there is less motivation to put out regular content in the first place. If they don't depend on subscribers to fund Giant Bomb and page views, there is going to be less motivation to actually put out much since the bills are getting paid elsewhere.

However its not easy to pick up and move everything to a new location and set everything back up from the way you used to have it. With only a few people to get things set back up again I am sure it is not easy.

I'd really like to see a look at Ys: Origin. It's been great to have these games released through Steam and it would be great to see them get some attention in the hopes that more will come.

I know this really isn't the kind of thing the crew here cares for but the combat is so fun! It's sad to see it ignored.

First of all, MUA 2 had the whole Civil War thing, so you were cut off from half of the heros at any given moment. Where MUA1 was a situation of who do I want to play as, MUA2 was which path do I take so I can play with the people I like.

Second of all, they took away all the powers. Captain America had 7 powers, Spider-Man had 8 powers, Wolverine had 6 powers. EVERYONE in MUA2 only had 4 and a super move, and there were only about 3 or 4 different kinds of super moves so they all repeat after a while.

Lastly, and this one is personal, I thought MUA2 was an ugly looking game. I think MUA1 might have been a launch title for the Xbox, but I still think it's better looking than MUA2.

The old X-Men Legends games are better than MUA2.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a pretty great game. It's also crazy long. Like, 20 hours the first time through at least. And Giant Bomb now has yet another excuse to not put out any content, so hooray for that.

@MormonWarrior: But you'd probably never hear "BAY-bul-on" for Babylon, which is an exact cognate. On top of that, the Hebrew name Babil means "confusion," referring to the confounding of man's language by God. In some respect I imagine that shapes the modern pronunciation, because the pronunciation "babble" is a handy method of preserving the additional connotations.

This part is purely speculation: Could Babel represent something subtly different within Mormon tradition? The traditional Genesis narrative tells us that all involved were scattered across the world - an etiological account of the diversity and remoteness of cultures and languages. The sheer scale of it all makes it seem impersonal, innately foreign, and there aren't heroes/villains in many traditions, because the scattering affected all people equally.

The Mormon account, on the other hand, depicts the confusion of tongues as a severe punishment for man's hubris, and God's agreement to singularly preserve Jered's language means this is a deeply personal story for Mormons. As opposed to being caught up in the "babble," modern Mormons inherit some of that ancient wisdom and clarity that Jered's family and ancestors brought to North America

The "babble" of it all might be easier to conceive of than the bigger picture minutiae to certain faithful. Meanwhile the same pronunciation could be uncomfortable when associated with such an important figure of truth and intact ancient ties.
