Nope! Not even the slightest shred of attention!

Also, I really do wish that this game displayed your camouflage rating so that people would realize that the Stealth Suit isn't very good at that. I've pretty much stopped using it entirely in my game.

That and that you can hit the radio button over areas of the map during missions to get more info about the mission as well.

It would also probably be useful for him to know that you can hit people with the tranq pistol in areas other than the head without setting off an alarm.

I haven't played this game. Every 4 or 5 of these episodes I'll pop in and watch like 5-10 minutes. I recommend it.

Why Drew continues to refuse to use the tranq pistol is truly baffling. The riot smg can be handy during alert phases but if you literally want to be super stealthy nothing is better in the entire game than the tranq pistol aside from maybe the tranq sniper but then the tranq sniper is really just the pistol but super OP.

Wow I have never seen D-dog go HAM like that before. I thought only Quiet would automatically attack dudes without you telling. Now I know he'll go after a group of dudes if he can... weird.

I remember when I was actually excited to watch these things, and now I can't stand them. I'm so disappointed.

Any ways, this mission was super annoying if you were trying to complete the "listen to all the interrogations" mission objective. The game is very picky in terms of where you move.

@drewbert , don't feel bad about this mission going sideways. It went sideways for a LOOOT of people.

Watching this video makes me feel like the whole "you can play however you want!" thing people say about this game is not true. I mean, you can, but it seems like a pretty bad experience.

Wow...Dan really didn't help get this on track (I'm about halfway through the video). The actual objective in this mission is easy to complete...it's just easy to screw up if one insists on trying to save all the prisoners etc.

Though I think just extracting the interpreter & waiting for Miller to give you the intel does work (and Drew was very close to this happening in one of the attempts). Alternatively there is the intel file in the camp but it's not really in a convenient place.

But basically, this mission just doesn't seem to be Drew's kind of thing, since it's very much about not being seen.

Oh boy, this is gonna be a great episode. Drew does not understand stealth at all, I barely ever see him even crouch.

Glee. =) I was scared that we were going to have to wait a couple of weeks for more MGS.

@fawkes: You can definitely play this game in many different ways (not "however you want" c'mon people). But this game encourages a specific play-style for sure. You never hear Ocelot say over the radio "when you get caught, why not try to eliminate everyone in the area?". It's always "try crawling" and "stay low" etc.

Wait, really? I don't really visit any MGS forums so I wouldn't know what people think of this mission, but doesn't Miller lay out exactly what you need to do at the start of the mission?

Drew was on the right track too, until Dan told him to knock them all out, wake the interpreter up, and follow him. The AI only goes back to it's routine if soldiers are put to sleep, not knocked out.

I don't remember any of this. I'm pretty sure I just sneaked around and fulton'd everybody and found the target on my own.

Also why is Dan purposely pronouncing Afrikaans wrong after Ocelot and Drew pronounce it correctly?

Not gonna lie, I restarted from a checkpoint during that mission about 20 times trying to get it perfect. Got there in the end.

Is it weird that I'm kind of rooting against Drew now? I'm waiting for the eventual moment when this game has repeatedly backed him into a corner and he will have to change his approach or just carry around a shotgun and grenade launcher at all times.

This is like watching a car crash. I literally can't stop watching.

Wow, even at night the sneaking suit is terrible camouflage. I've been using the "animals" camo since I unlocked it and I have never been spotted nearly as easily as Drew has been with the sneaking suit. His night time sneaking suit is about as effective as camo as "animals" is for me during the day.

Edit: After seeing this mission, very interested to see him do mission 18.

I still enjoy watching these, but it certainly seems to get rough at times for Drew and his balls-to-the-walls approach...I wonder if he'd be more in his element with Just Cause 3.

And again, I've said it before and I'll say it again: the camo is not the problem. You can wear a gold-plated lycra skinsuit in this game, and nobody will see you if you crawl

I wore the sneaking suit throughout basically the whole game and never had 1/100th the problems with stealth that Drew does, because I was on my belly the whole time

Considering how often and gleefully I abandoned stealth bullshit for full lethal, I'm right there with Drew.

In an earlier episode, Drew commends how minimal the HUD is, but by stripping out an indicator of your camouflage level, Drew isn't seeing the glaring, like -60% camouflage he has when he is sprinting around in broad daylight in a dark sneaking suit. He seems to just accept that guards can see him from like 500 yards away in this game.

The camouflage rating in MGS3 and MGS4 really shows you how much crawling improves your stealthiness, but since it's completely hidden in this game, Drew is pretty much 14% of the way through a "no-crawl" playthrough.

Ya know, I like Dan but I wish that for this series we could get Jeff, Drew or Jason in once in a while to give Drew more diverse opinions on gameplay. Dan just doesn't or refuses to understand how to not be seen in this game and to see Drew fail because of that is very disappointing. This mission is so easy with a sleep or flash grenade and D-Walker to help get around in.

I'm ashamed of my words and deeds, but that has nothing to do with my opinion of Quiet's design.

One thing I cannot stand is when a game is blamed for not explaining something, when it very clearly does (even though MGSV is guilty of not explaining a million other things, just not in this case). Brad is the biggest offender here but Drew is so quick to just shoot without reading the mission objective or intel.

I thought the copious amount of voice acting explaining the objective was clear enough but if you didn't get it from that, the mission text is even more explicit.

I really wanted to like the video series but this is one of the reasons I can't continue. I'm sorry. This is supposed to be criticism, not just internet whining. I hope they have fun with the rest of the game but the entertainment value is almost completely gone for me.

There's a sideop to get specialist that can enable customize weapons.(so Drew can make Suppressed Tranq rifle) he really should go on to do that.
