Game looks alot less interesting than I first thought it looked. Saw some E3 footage that looked alot creepier and weirder than what Im seeing here. Little dissapointing..

As noble as it is to make a story about something like this, I won't be purchasing it. The gameplay just doesn't do it for me.

It appears the point of the game is to not be a hard game, but is rather a little more about the journey ...or so it seems. You not supposed to find it hard or for you to time attack the levels to do better. I know being less challenging that might turn people off and some others might get turned off from falling down where you not supposed to so you get reset, but I think this looks very cool.

I'm blown away by the art and the characterization. I can imagine for some people this flips no neurological switches, but for people like me this lights my brain up like a christmas tree. In my life I've played so many platformers that they just don't need another one....it this had more game and more platforming consequence it would be less interesting because then it would care more about the mechanics then the meaningful story/journey.

This is a day one purchase for me, just as Journey was a day one buy for me.

"Daddy drank too much and hit me :(" Sound pretty stale to me. Maybe there's something more to it, though. As far as graphics goes, it looks nice to me aside from the occasional technical quirk.

I don't see why you need to be so reductive of someone else's trauma and them wanting to tell that story. Just because it's a common childhood issue doesn't make it not worth exploring or discussing. Everyone deals with emotional pain differently, so maybe this guy has something unique to say? Instead of dismissing it outright maybe you could try keeping an open mind.

What? But how will he get Jaded Internet Cool Points?

It's a race to the bottom of Internet Apathy! Can't fall behind!!

Does anyone else remember the opening line of Animal Farm where it was like "THIS BOOK IS ABOUT COMMUNISM."?

Yeah, me neither.

Did they change the design of monster? I liked how he used to look if they did. I feel like the face looked differently previously.

Had no real interest in this game til I saw this, but think I'll be picking this up for sure. Great feel and environment, bold premise and impact. I'm impressed.

This is so true. It's a shame the creator is so very blatant at the beginning and has been so open about its "meaning" during the development. Takes away the punch.

Seems allright. Not the sort of game I'm into right now, but I guess it's allright.

Agreed, probably woulda been much better if he had just kept quiet about it.

I'm happy this game was made but the execution seems average at best.

Yeah what the heck is with the general negativity toward this game? I get that it's fairly unpolished, and it is a linear puzzle game, and a PS network downloadble, but in light of TLG getting shelved, would you rather there NOT be more creative, imaginative artistically inclined games available? Christ all the "meh's" or the "buh, looks average" comments kind of irk me. I'm not gonna say well, go play Darksiders 2 instead if you dislike abstract dreamlike games with creativity taking prcident over solid point-earning mechanics- but the attempt here to create something unique, mysterious and fresh with what I saw in this QL succeeds.

I agree with Ryan's comment about the Team Ico vibe. I like that vibe. And I like the look of this game, and when the money's right, I'll probably get it. Between this, journey, and a few others, it's inspiring to see some new things coming from new developers. Stuff that isn't overly wrought with babbling and exposition and more about exploring and experiencing the world that's built to be witnessed. It's what keeps me at least interested in what video games have to offer creatively.

I can't believe that soccer ball is unkickable, in a game with physics-based puzzles. Even FF7 let you kick a soccer ball. I want no part of this outrageous anti-soccer agenda.

That monster walking outside the bedroom door at the beginning is pretty heavy stuff. Especially when you know it's autobiographical. Poor guy.

For everything this game does fantastically, there's something it does poorly. It's presentation, story, and soundtrack are to die for, but literally everything else is not good.

There's something about the look on the frogs face when he carries them that slays me.

The more tragic points seem to be when the girl tells Quico he is cursed. It makes me think that the kid feels like he is blaming himself for the ills that befall monster when monster goes on that rampage. Oftentimes when things like this happen during childhood the kids tend to blame themselves for the issues going on with parents instead of seeing that it is the parents' own flaws that cause them to be that way. They see their parents as a sort of hero or perfect being, so they tend to feel it is their own flaws that bring out the problems with their parents.

The soccer balls scattered throughout the world can actually be kicked. You just push the square button near a soccer ball, and Quico will juggle and kick the ball. There's even a trophy associated with the soccer ball.

My god, what is with you people.

Just because something has happened and been covered before, that does not mean it can't be handled in from a fresh perspective. Not interested in the creators artistic interpretation of his own life and situation? Well, then I guess this is not for you. No need to rag on it for that purpose alone.
