been a long time since a game specific one. Guess I'll download this but need to get portal 2 and play it before I listen

That was really good. It's a shame that Valve games are just about the only games that tell a decent story (as opposed to most games which just have a movie hap-hazardly cut into them that tell a decent story), maybe the success of games like Portal and Bioshock will create more people in the industry like this.

Love the leopard print turret. Also fat turret was awesome too.

I finished the single player, but not the co-op.  Is this podcast safe for me to listen to?

One of the best parts about Portal 2 to me is realizing that they avoided giving in to creating any memes for people to saturate the internet with for the next couple years. Instead, there was just great dialog.

The only thing that sort of annoyed me was how at first it seemed like every line coming from GlaDOS was an insult at Chell. The first few times were haha but the next fifty was diminishing returns, especially fat jokes and whatnot.

I hope someone captures audio from all the turrets as well. Those were some funny lines.

According to Wikipedia, Melvin Jerome Blank (IPA: [blæ̃ːŋk]) changed his name to Blanc, the French word for "white" (IPA: [blɑ̃ː]), with the final consonant unpronounced. But he kept the original pronunciation. Had he francisized it, as some with the name Blanc do, then it would be [blɔ̃ːŋk] as Ryan said.

I wish this spoilercast was longer! There's so much more questions that could've been asked!

... and now I am disappointed. Ryan did his best, but the guys are so not talking about anything interesting, IMHO. They are stuck in meta-jokes, talking about things not related to anything really interesting, and saying nothing really interesting.

It's not 'developers commentary'. No "behind the scenes" explanation why they did what, to what extend, for what reason - or going for which effect. This is just another 30 min with 'the developers' during the Valve/Portal 2 media event (journos playing/reviewing the game in Seattle).

Rather funny, that the 'writers' are the ones having the least thing to say about the game. The Portal 'fiction' also isn't really the most compelling element of this game? It's ok. I like parts of it. Would have had a couple questions on my own - but now I'm done.

This was far too short a podcast! I feel Ryan just barely scratched the surface.

I really enjoyed this podcast. Ryan is a great moderator. 

As far as Portal 2 goes, this podcast was pretty unenlightening.

I stopped listening after he said Shutter Island wasn't a very good movie. 

Pinkerton! I'm a fan of his writing going way back. Wondered where he went after This Is Vegas fell apart. Awesome to find out he had a hand in Portal 2.

is Portal 2 worth the hype ? It looks mundane . I never played the first one and I think the game looks kinda weird .
