Can somebody explain to me why a lot of people complain about ads when I have never ever seen one before watching a video on giantbomb.com?

I think you people need to calm down about the ads.

Americans got fucked over with all the ads, it's ridiculous.  
 
It would be fine if it was only 2 times a day like they promised, but this damn glitch is annoying as all hell.

I haven't seen any ads as of yet, probably because they haven't fully worked out their localization (after all it wouldn't make much sense to advertise something in central Europe that you can't buy in central Europe) but for the material they're offering I wouldn't begrudge them implementing advertisements. If it keeps the site up and running, it's worth it. As long as the site doesn't become a small embedded frame inside an internet billboard, making you double-check before you even move your cursor, let alone clicking anything.

If you're going to bitch about ads, do it somewhere else. These comments are just for how shitty the QotW is.

As far as the ads, I think they're great, if they have a limit. I usually watch videos in blocks, 10 a day every 4 to 5 days. Seeing and hearing the odst ad over and over drives me nuts.

Firefox and Adblock Plus, default settings.
 
I legitimately did not know that there were ads until I tried to disable ABP to see what everyone was whining about.

If you're using Firefox and have Adblock on the ads won't show up.

Wow, those two were pretty good. And what the heck people? I'd of thought this QOTW would've gotten tons of submissions, it was a good one! 
If I had a video camera or something, I'd of submitted one.
But seriously, this had some potential, and only two people did it? *sigh*

GB has a userbase of how big? And only 2 submissions were received? I think that's saying something. And this isn't the first time this has happened either.

I wonder what would happen if one week nobody sent in answers. What then? Does the GB crew attempt to answer the question themselves?

Wow I can't believe only two people did this. I thought this would be a gold-mine for awesome shit but GB community has left me down, and more importantly we let ourselves down. 

I disabled Adblock for this website.

I wouldn't say this is the exact reason for this week's lack of submissions but it might be possible that some of the regulars are getting tired of putting in a ton of work only to have a bunch of W-hats that don't submit anything tell them that their entry sucks amongst other mature comments. I'd be willing to bet that they'd actually get more responses if they disabled commenting on this entire feature.
 
Before I get called a cry-baby I'd like to point out that my few submissions haven't actually received many negative comments but it seemed like every week someone was telling Lemon and Dan or the other regulars to just give it up and stop submitting.
 
Personally, I don't enter most weeks because I don't have the time and I'm still a little miffed that they spelled my username wrong the last time I submitted.
