Quick Look: Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines

Yes, finished AC2 and this looks OK. Bloodlines... hm... Does it just consist of the mission with the same name from AC2? :P

I absolutely despised everything AC1 stood for, and I borrowed this just to see how it works on the PSP.
 
And I finished it, and loved it.
Can anyone tell me why exactly did that happen?

I really want AC2, but I think ill just wait for it to drop to under 40 bucks...

was there really need for this kind of game on the psp ?

I believe the outer jump thing was in the first one, but i digress, you probably knew that, you do a lot of it in AC2 no doubt.

in AC1 you could do air assassinations

The story isn't bad, its more interesting than AC1 really. At the end it does link Altair to Ezio so it fills in some gaps.
 
As for the PS3 unlocks, theres 6 bosses all with weapons, as you kill them you can use those weapons in AC2.
 
Would recommend playing with a PS3 controller if you can, makes the controls alot easier.

Yea this does look decent but for the story I just looked it up.  I went on the Assassin's Creed wiki to better understand what the hell was going on and just read the plot for this one which kinda added more to the overall story which i think i finally get.  Plus i don't have a psp yet soo I couldn't get if even if i wanted to.

They couldn't even get the voice of Altair? This whole game feels kinda half-assed.

Air assassinations are in the first game. You have to be in the air when you trigger the hidden blade assassination move. Anyways, I think this game should not have been made. There is zero fuck citizens, it looks crazy clunky, and it has many technical performance hitches.

What a miserable failure of a game.

That whole thing was awkward and silly.

Doesn't look terrible, but doesn't look very great either, especially with AC2 out at the same time.

If anyone was interested in this before, but was turned off by the quick look, I'd like to mention that this wasn't also the best representation of the game.
 
On the approach to the boss-guy, I didn't use my sword once, I knifed the guy on the left you can see at 12:50  , ran past him, climbed up the wall there and was able to grab and throw the guy you can see at 14:40 to his death.
 
Running like an idiot and killing everyone works, but it also does in HItman, and who plays Hitman like that?
 
And Ryan could have killed the guards he was targeting from the roof at 22:50, he would just need to use his throwing knives. 

You could do Air assassinations in AC1.

Some of the animations in this game look horrible, choppy as hell.  And Altiar's model looks strange.

Another crappy Ubisoft game on the PSP. They should stick to localizing Japanese games.

Everything. I gave that game several chances, forced myself to play it for several hours, found it absolutely disgusting, didn't play it for a month and then tried again, still hated it. Then again, and still hated it.   I hated it from the immersion-breaking set-up (You are actually Desmond, and we'll randomly make you play as him as you walk from your bedroom to a magic chair and back) to the repetitive 3-things-you-do-for-15-hours gameplay. I consider it one of the worst games I've ever played.  I like how half-assed the guards seem in this game with friendly fire and randomly jumping to their deaths instead of looking and deciding if they can make it or not.

This game looks so empty and lonely.

My biggest issue with this series has always been with Altairs appereal. He's supposed to be this amazing assassin and yet he wears those white robs and stands out like a sore thumb. Why not wear some peasant clothes to blend in a little more? That would make him a lot harder to find instead of the guards looking for a nut job running on rooftops in this white jumpsuit.

That fire looks really bad. And also sounds alot more like running water then fire...

you guys gotta remember, this is on a psp.

Long-ass quick look videos are one of the very best things about Giant Bomb :)

That's an easy thing to say, but I do play a lot of games and other than Splinter Cell Double Agent, Assassin's Creed 1 is the only game I've ever seriously despised. "

Looks interesting, but hate that they've changed the voice actor for Altair. He's a great character, but the voice change ruins it.

Well, the issue is that I've already given the game 5 chances or so... "
